I think Lindor's rep made a big mistake. I mean how can a 23 year old give up a guaranteed $100M payday and eliminate all risk for the rest of the player's life. What does the rep expect, that in 3 or 4 years Lindor can sign for $250M. I mean, if you put that $100M to work in investments over that time, it'll double anyway without a single iota of risk to injury, slumps, etc. I hope it doesn't for his sake and the Indians, but if he was actually offered that amount of change I think it'll come back to bite him in the ass.
And on top of that, at 28 years old, he'll be at the peak of his game if he doesn't have issues between now and then, and he'll be able to sign for another huge contract plus keep his $100M plus investment growth...doesn't make sense to me at all.
