Series Six - Kansas City Royals vs. Cleveland Indians - April 18, 19, 20, 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Odd that Acta gave both Gomez and Masterson more rope than Tomlin even though both were pitching worse.

Perez sucked but this game was lost in the 8th by bad coaching/management. First off, in the 7th and no outs and a runner on first. Why the hell didn't we bunt with Everett? Fuck that shit.

Second; Santana on second base in the 8th and one out. Hafner smokes a line drive single to center that gets to the CF'er in about one fucking second. Why the hell are we sending Santana? He was out by 15 feet. The bases could have been loaded with one out if he had stayed on third. Bullshit.

Third, Tomlin had about 90 pitches. Why the hell do we take him out just because someone is on second base? He was cruising right along and never really had a stressful inning at all to that point. Bullshit.

There's three coaching decisions that sucked. Yeah, Perez blew turds but we fucking blew this game way before Perez came in.

Instead of 3 games ahead we are one game ahead. Bullshit.

I'd be tee-totally pissed off if I were Josh Tomlin. GREAT GAME Josh!

Was the guy even on 2nd base? I thought a guy got to 1B and then Tomlin got yanked. But my memory is fuzzy due to rage.

BTW, anyone that thinks the Royals are better than the Indians or even equal to them is batshit crazy. Royals are 10x worse, and will never keep up this pace.

hm. Maybe you are right. Now I'm not sure. That's even worse then. Acta didn't have a good reason to take him out. My God, let the kid pitch for fucks sake.

Tomlin was taken out immediately after walking the leadoff guy. Getz got to 2nd by stealing on Sipp.

Perez.

Not much you can take away from this game. Other than the fact that I don't have to see Kaufman Stadium anymore, god I hate that place. Good games by Tomlin and Grady.

We had the bases loaded two games ago in the 9th and we shit the bed while KC gets bases loaded in the 9th and gets the hits needed.

So now the definition of 'better' is defined by a total of 2 ABs (the AB for Santana with the bases juiced vs. Melky's with the same scenario)? Seems pretty narrow to me.

Who is to say we keep up this pace?

Hopefully no one with a clue. This club is not good enough to maintain this record, same with the Royals. A tough loss but it was bound to happen eventually for Perez.

After Masterson's first walk yesterday...

After second walk...

Now we're blaming him for pulling Tomlin? :chuckles:

Because Masterson was pitching a shutout and had looked spectacular up to that point, right?

Please.

I never complained about yanking Tomlin. And even if I did, the situations weren't the same. Masterson had thrown more pitches in fewer innings and had labored to get through the previous inning. Tomlin was cruising all game.

My gripe would be bringing in Sipp instead of Perez. As I said a few games ago, Sipp was losing it, but nobody acknowledged it because he hadn't been touched up yet. People tend to ignore the poor command until the walks actually end up crossing home plate. He's had 3 or 4 poor outings in a row.

Come on guys yes it was a tough loss but there is plenty of ball to play. We will get them tomorrow in Minnessotta. Fausto will show that he is our stopper. We can't get too over excited over one loss everytime. Just gotta move on and take 2 out of 3 over the weekend,
