Shaq

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Draft Night can't come soon enough so we can all complain about why Danny Boy didn't draft this player or that player or why didn't he buy a pick and select [fill in a name]. At this point all of the comments (including mine) are just recycled material.

Sorry if this was already posted, but I feel that this is minor enough that it doesn't need it's own topic... From Ric Bucher's Twitter:

"Looking to see what they can do with Shaq or Amare. A good chance Shaq will be moved by Thursday."

Interesting to see what happens with Shaqtus. Whether the Cavs decide to take their plan B option, or just watch Shaq be traded elsewhere (if at all) if Shaq really is likely to be traded on draft night.

EDIT: Ah, I didn't feel like looking through this thread to find it, but there was a topic in Cavs Talk: http://www.realcavsfans.com/showthread.php?t=21732 . Oh well.

What would it take to get Richardson in a Shaq deal? I think he'd fit pretty well, not perfectly like Childress, but he's definitely more talented.

I'm guessing Ben, Sasha, Boobie and a couple picks? No idea if of works, just think it's an option Ferry will be looking at.

Why does everyone think we have to overpay for Shaq? .....let's throw in JJ, DJ and West while we are at it. This is a buyer market for guys like Shaq where the team wants to reduce salary.

You'd need to include Z.

Wallace, Pavs and JJ Hickson for Shaq?

I don't necessarily want to include JJ but after the news we received today wouldn't be surprised if Ferry ships him out.

Doubt Hickson would pass the physical to ship him out so it doesn't matter.

Probably. If it's not a disc problem as the agent claims Phoenix could still pass him on the physical. Unlike the Cavs they probably have a little more patience to develop a raw prospect like JJ.

We would need to have another pick locked in. Cause otherwise we would be thin as hell at PF.

Basically the only PF we would have under contract in that scenario is Darnell Jackson.

Varejao is unrestricted so we can't just assume he will be back.

If we had another draft pick arranged where we could get someone who can fill in off the bench, like even Tyler Hansborough level I would consider the trade. Or perhaps we would use the MLE on a big man.

Here's a nice little article on Shaq, just talking about all the things that Shaq would like about C-Town:

Among other things:

So what's a behemoth to do if he has to face bitter Cleveland winters? Why, go to the coat store he's been going to for years -- Furs by Weiss. James is a customer, too.

O'Neal first bought a 70-inch-long, size-58 dark, mink coat from the Beachwood furrier in 2000, and ordered another one a year later that required 56 little rare, white minks to be sacrificed for the full-length coat. The custom-made coats were estimated to cost between $3,000 and $5,000.

O'Neal has become good friends with Skipper Weiss, the store's owner, and even visited the shop a couple weeks ago to talk about another coat, according to Traci Emmett, Weiss' office manager.

Hmm, could the Big Prognosticator be planning a move to a cooler climate? If he ends up on the shores of Lake Erie, there's no doubt he'll be warm and cozy.

"We'd be more than happy to make something for him again if he came to Cleveland," Emmett said.

Ive seen Shaq at the beachwood mall earlier this year when we face the Suns

please bring in shaq. only player i really want thats on the market.

People worry about shaq and Z, but I see them playing good complementary roles and could help keep each other healthy. I would consider rotating them and using them based on need. Shaq would only need to play major minutes against Orlando, Boston, LA, and Houston. Z can handle anyone else. Seems like they both might be pretty healthy going into the playoffs if they split time at center, playing low minutes 10-15 against teams that were not a problem.
