This is pretty cut and dry here if you ask me. Heath acts like he has insider info, and "sources" and what not, and W&G actually does. Heath doesn't like it. W&G deserves to make his own threads, because...

A) He's provided us accurate information in the past.
B) He's proven he is what he says he is...or isn't.
C) He provided a completely fresh and largely unheard of chunk in the 2010 discussion.

Heath, obviously this website isn't for you. It's been proven time and time again. Like PIP said cavs.com seems like just the place for you. I don't know why you try to keep forcing the issue here. You never are satisfied with any decisions the staff makes, and you usually make your issues public on the main forum. I don't understand why you come here if you dislike it so much.

Look, if this forum wants to be CUPS central (Capitalization, Usage, Punctuation, Spelling) I teach grammar for a living. I just got paid for teaching appositive phrases today. I like the fact I do not worry about such corrections on a website, but if you want the grammar police... trust me... I will bring the compositional noise.

NOOO!! You win Randolph... You win.. just put the gun down...

"Their" should be used in both places in that sentence. I just thought you'd like to know for when you're correcting other people's writing.

Members going out of their way to be a wiseguy may also fall by the wayside.

I like this forums and all because I don't have to go trough all that useless topics that you get on some official low moderated sites (ehm, cavs.com). I like it, because I get the filing that you are visiting someone at his home and you have to behave and play by the rules. Keep it up an keep it clean, thank you. :king:

You're the one talking about going off on grammar issues -- I thought you'd like someone who practices what you preach Karma...that's all.

Call it being a wiseguy if you like -- I call it keeping you honest -- it's obvious that there's a set of rules for all us commoners, and then moderators can do whatever they want regardless of how obviously hypocritical it is at times.

But hey, feel free to boot me if that'll make you feel better. I personally think that you should just follow Pip's lead since he clearly handles these situations much more effectively.

Please give it a rest. Look, no one is demanding perfection. No "commoners" have ever been or ever will be reprimanded for a spelling error or two in their post. It's the intentional lack of effort that makes posts difficult to read and pulls down the quality of the board.

Here is an excerpt from the "posting etiquette" thread -

● Grammar

We're a pretty loose group of people, and we all like to speak comfortably but try to refrain from overuse of slang.

Things like "dat, wuz, b, cuz and etc" Using some occasionaly is fine but when it disrupts the flow of the post to where your trying to decipher through the slang to find the message then thats gone too far.

We're not sticklers for punctuation but we do encourage the use of capitalization and the occasional period to seperate sentences so we aren't reading one giant run-on.

Isn't this pretty clear? Not sure why you are trying to turn this into a "mods versus poster" thing. The mods don't get paid to be here(well I do). They are fellow Cavs fans making the extra effort trying to make this the best Cav's message board possible...FOR YOU. If there were no moderators deleting duplicate threads, deleting inane posts, asking people to avoid slang, this place would deteriorate like many other sites and become unreadable. The quality of RCF's posts is one of the key aspects that has made this site so successful...we're just trying to keep it there.

Let's move on and talk about the Cavs...

RCF is really interesting. theres the intelligent debate and information sharing and then theres this nonsense. its so polar.

quick question though. if i got banned, for example, woudl anyone notice? i mean is there somewhere on this site where its announced when someone is banned or does it become a topic of discussion because the banned individual is real active on the site?

Thanks Max. Some members seem to get a kick out of being difficult, particulary people with authority. I don't understand why you have a problem with what we are trying to do. If everyone sticks to the guidelines, there are no worries. Argueing with us for the sake of it gets this site nowhere.

I'm just upset because I'm the resident asshole that starts problems, and I haven't been involved in any in a while.

Do you want to be a mod?
