So long, David Griffin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What choice do we have but to go all in? Surrender and accept second place for the tail end of the career of one of the greatest players ever?

Yeah, I don't want to squeak into the playoffs and be happy just to be there. No thanks.

Go all in with a GOAT or blow it up.

Dan saw LeBron average a triple double scoring 34 points a game.....and lose in 5.

Maybe he think we're fukked no matter what next year....

I hope I'm wrong about that. It doesn't make sense why you wouldn't go all in for next year.

I will say I'm surprised Griff didn't even consider Carmelo Anthony if we could get him for scraps.

If you trade Love for one year of George, you aren't beating Golden State anyway, and both LeBron and George are probably gone, leaving you with Kyrie and nothing to rebuild with. If this was Gilbert's thinking, then I am fully behind his decision.

Gilbert is an idiot if his plan is anything other than squeezing every drop from the LeBron stone before selling the franchise.

Based on that you'd assume Gilbert was scared to potentially rent PG for a year and have everything hinge on Lebron again. Scared to get burned.

Fuck you Gilbert. Stick to the money and let other people handle the basketball. Your basketball track record is god awful.

If this is true, even if Lebron and PG both left you still own a franchise worth north of a billion that you paid $300 million for. Who cares if they suck for 5 years?

That valuation comes WAY down if LBJ leaves again, so it's in Dan's interest to do whatever he can to keep that man in Cleveland for the duration. A move like this, as of now anyway, does not seem wise from a team valuation standpoint.

There's one good player, one winner, one top 15 NBA player on the Cavs. Let's do what is needed to give him the best chance possible at winning next year.

Don't worry about your overrated pg and pf and how they'll fare afterwards. I can tell you already right now - not well.

Man I 100% disagree. Our only chance at rings is NOW with Lebron. Kyrie and Love with no future draft picks or assets after Lebron leaves next offseason is pointless. They will have to be traded off for draft picks to rebuild.

Have you seen us with LeBron off the floor or out for a game?

This team is a god damn dumpster fire without LBJ.

Our championship window will close with LeBron's prime.

You are completely delusional if you or Dan for that matter, thinks otherwise.

This feels like the beginning of the end.

It's unreal that we went from talking about Paul George to the future dismantling of the Cavs organization in a matter of an hour.

This is fucked.

Lebron is a 32 year old star with a year left on his deal - I doubt that much of the Cavs franchise worth is based on Lebron. At $1.2 billion the Cavs are in the middle of the pack. The least valuable is 720 million and the most, 3 billion. Either way, unless he plans on selling during Lebron's tenure, he will have to face the post-Lebron value anyway.

When Lebron was drafted at 18, yea - that made the value nearly double.

Meh, it's all speculation anyway until you put it on the market and get offers, right?

Who said anything about a championship window? We don't even have any chance at a good draft pick until 2021 if LeBron leaves. We would be the Brooklyn Nets for years before we could even start rebuilding if we have no one that we can even trade away for picks. I don't think trying to avoid a decade plus rebuild is a bad thing, especially when the moves you are looking at making don't make you appreciably better anyway.

Even if we don't get Butler/George,,,Wade and Melo will get buyouts next year and could be added without sacrificing assets.
Shouldn't be panicking at this point. TAKE A BREATHE AND RELAX.

Not true - our 2019 pick is at least top ten protected.

Again. Cavaliers are NBA Champions. They actually fuckin did it. Be thankful. Be happy. Let's not completely freak out and just wait and see what happens. At the very least we have ONE LAST CHANCE to win it all again before LeBron leaves again.
