So long, David Griffin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didn't know before last night's TNT broadcast that Griffin knocks his head with his knuckles in order to help the Cavs hit their free throws. I know he always talks about knocking on wood and other metaphors, but I hadn't see his sports superstitions take actual shape before.

I like Griffin but he does have 1 weakness as GM. Hes not very good at finding the gems in the later rounds. If he choose to go, i hope Cavs find someone with a proven record in drafting the gems because this team will contend for a long time...

You realised that outside of the Spurs nobody has a proven record of doing that right?

Drafting in the second round is extremely unpredictable.. And its hard because the bust Potential is even higher... You can get 2-3 NBA Level Players but the 27-28 others will be out of the League by their second year..

I think we just should get a decent scout period.. and let him handle it..
A contending Team should try to play it safe sometimes and sometimes go for risk.. but you have to look at Team needs first.. Kay does not help us.. we cant use another all Offense nearly no defense PG.. we already have Kyrie. Draft the next Delly or try to find a guy like Patrick Beverly.. Someone who complements the guys we already have.

Overall i would love if we just would focus on defensive first players in the upcoming drafts.. we would do so much better in the RS if we had 1-2 good young defenders who can help stop the bleeding once our Starters have opened up a lead..

He wants to leave after having the audacity to draft that little guy

I have a hard time understanding why this is sometimes. Seems like drafting older 4 year players in the 2nd round is the way to go. Guys who improve every year of college have a good track record. Who was the last Gem the Spurs picked up that was 1 and done? Kawhi doesn't count as a lottery pick even though they obviously saw more potential in him than others.

Anyway it is amazing how slim that difference between boom and bust is in NBA

The gm or scout from the nuggets does a nice job.

Will Barton with the 40th pick. Jokic with the 41st pick.

I think it makes a lot of sense for him to take the Magic job. People need to stop viewing it as an extension of playing.

The Nuggets front office is also pretty great at finishing below .500.

When has he really had that chance? Hell, even Joe Harris has shown something.

Cedi we don't know yet. I don't put Felder on him, that's all Dan Gilbert IMO.

It's not exactly easy finding these gems. Name me a team that will find them every single year?

Maybe the Spurs, but no organization is like them.

Putting things into even better perspective, the 5th best player in the world and the 200th best player in the entire world dont even look like they belong on the same court together.

Drafting in the 2nd round and late first really isn't that hard. Just draft 6'8 defenders who are capible of dribbling. Those guys tend to work out well.
