So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jordan "rich mans kyrie Irving" Clarkson highlights :chuckle:

I'm glad I watched his highlights... I continue to underestimate this dude. I paid little attention to him the day of the trade to be honest. Was shocked at how well he played against Boston, and didn't fully appreciate his game last night till watching these highlights. That crossover stepback was f'ing FILTHY.

I see you now JC. I literally have no idea what the Lakers were thinking. It's astonishing.

Irving has been basically the exact same player his entire career, with or without James. He's improved slightly this season with a better coach, but he's still basically the same player. He's an efficient scorer, great shooter, and dog shit on defense. That's who he was last year. That's who he is this year. That's who he'll be next year. That's who he was his rookie year.

I like Clarkson, but let's pump the brakes on saying he's anywhere near Irving's level as a scorer after two games. He's never been that kind of consistent in the past, which is why he's coming off the bench.

Show me the stats, playa. I saw ok one of the morning shows that he is actually scoring less this year, while some of his other stats are down and some are up.

He's scoring .6 points less per game, but he's also playing a few less minutes per game and his efficiency is up a little. I think it's safe to say he's playing a little better this year even if the raw stats don't showcase it.

While I like JC, I have an idea of what the Lakers we’re thinking. If they can pair out FRP with Loul Deng and move him, then let Randle walk. They will only have Ingram, Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Lonzo under contract for a whopping total of 16,564,080. But unless they get some big time free agents I think this trade gets a D.

I mean, I get that the Lakers motivation was to clear space.. but this seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face. This trade already looks foolish and I think will only look moreso over the next couple seasons.

Everyone talks about how the new players have re-energized LeBron and the guys remaining in Cleveland after the trade deadline. But some may ignore how the trade can re-energize the guys that have joined the team who have become accustomed to losing and developed some bad habits as a result. Shots you make or miss don't matter much when you are going to go no better than 30-52 so it is easy to stop really caring about the in-game decisions you might make. Here, it will matter. So far, Clarkson seems to be enjoying the relevance of playing on a contender.

Maybe this was already discussed in this thread, and if so, apologies, but is there any significance to Clarkson's three point celebration where he points to the floor? Is it just a random celebration he made up or is there something behind it? Did he do it in LA or did he just make it up post trade?

Not sure but I like it.
