So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't now for sure, but I think a lot of the problem Lebron had with the system is that the Cavs didn't actually have the personnel to run it. Hopefully that is solved and the defense is just better. If not, we are in big trouble.

Lue said I think yesterday that our team identity should be our defense. Clearly defense is going to be a priority now that we have the athletes to play it. Presumably he does think our defense is going to look very different now one way or another, although it was unclear whether that would be from a change in scheme or change in personnel. I really wish NBA reporters were smart enough to ask ANYTHING technical or insightful about actual plays on the floor.

(edited -- here is the exact quote, from a McMenamin article on ESPN:

And Lue, finally, after dancing around the question all season prior to the trade deadline, could give a direct answer when asked about the identity of his team.

"It starts with our defense," Lue said. "That's what we've got to be: turn our defense into offense. If we're guarding the basketball, we're getting stops, getting turnovers, we can really get out and run because we have four guys on the floor at all times that can make a play.")

He came out on fire after the stitches. He is going to be very important against playoff defenses. He doesn't always need to be the 2nd leading scorer, but he has to be able to get some buckets and assists when LeBron sits.

If he can just do a little more kicking on the drive, he would be perfect.

Sometimes listening to him talk, both in his accent/dialect and attitude, I imagine him as a country cousin of Delonte West.

Delonte is still one of my favorite Cavs. I hope he’s doing well in his post basketball life and in a good state of mind.

Pretty crazy considering the plethora of guards we had play this year and Jordan Clarkson stands out the most behind LeBron and Love with 28 points per 100 possessions.

Koby better file a restraining order on behalf of Clarkson on Phil Handy so he doesn't try tweaking Clarkson shot. I bet Clarkson leaning into his 3s is killing Phil Handy, just like Hood having too wide of a stance.

Clarkson is so streaky. His 3s are lightning fast and flat and I'm not sure it's good.

Lol, but when he is on he is on. Still, he likes to shoot it a bit too much as a PnR Ball Handler even if the Roll Man is in a great position to a receive a pass, and a Roll Man like Zizic will always produce a higher .PPP than a shot off the dribble.

It was garbage time and against a shitty team so it doesn't matter...though he does need too become a better playmaker though and not just an aggressive god.

Exciting player when he is on.

He is so good at running the pick and roll. He should be dishing on the roll, and taking the shot if it is wide open. No contested shots and spot up off screens or throw up the go ahead 3 on steal.

Doesn't need to take contested jumpers. He can penetrate too. He needs to drive it to tell rim

I personally don’t mind him shooting because his role can be reduced if his play isn’t up to par or his shot isn’t falling. I hope Handy helps him clean up his dribbling when going at top speed which is almost always or in traffic. Dude is fun as hell to watch but I do hope he continues to expand his game

His shot looks pretty good when he takes it within the flow of the offense. Much better than the 33% guy...that is only when he starts firing bad shots.

He had a long way to go IQ wise, but I like his irrational confidence come playoff time. It’ll
Come in handy.

Defensively I’d keep him on the ball as much as possible. He gets confused/lost behind back screens and ball watches like LBJ.

But he has great length and lateral quickness. Also quick hands. Keep him on the ball, engaged in the play and use his physical tools. You’ll get the best out of him that way.
