So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I want him rotated in faster for Hill. Time running pick and roll with Zizic and Larry. Pick and pop with Kevin.

Could be cool.

I don't see him as a good passer... he sort of have a tunnel vision... I see him as the new JR, when he is ON its fun to watch him shoot bad shots that goes in and very frustrating when he has an off night... wish he could improve as a defender...

I saw it more when he was playing with Larry. He can get it to the roll man. He can do the same thing with Zizic.

He has a passing game, but he does not know where his guys are yet

"Irrational confidence", nail meet hammer, I love it. Clarkson is fearless and fierce. Too bad about that tunnel vision, great when he is hot, otherwise not. He is what he is for this season anyways, hope he stays hot, and gains some more awareness with experience.

That’s what I’m SAYIN’!

If JR could take this guy under his wing, and teach him discipline and situational awareness and court-vision, he could really be a PLAYER!

Same theories of how this guy can get better

Similar to the theories on how iman could get better

These role players they are what they are

If that is true, he can still be the best sg on the roster. Maybe Hood is, but Jordan needs more minutes right now

I'm not sure what to make of this guy long term on the Cavs. He's a pure SG and not a combo guard let alone PG IMO. You give him the keys to the offense and he'll do shit like the second half of the Nets game where he called his number on 4 straight possessions and missed 3 of those shots. He literally won't even give the ball up and put his head down on multiple possessions in the game when he's supposed to initiate the offense. The dude is not at the level of a Kyrie Irving to get away with that sort of stuff on a consistent basis

OTOH he's a very good spot up shooter and he can get inside. You can pair him with Lebron as the PG but on the second string you need him with a guy like Hill and Calderon to run the offense (which they did in the Nets game: thanks Larry Drew and turned him into a positive). Maybe his future is too play with Osman: Osman has size but when he initiates the offense unlike Clarkson he's willing to give the ball up and has good vision

JC is the kind of guy that should never be told to be more aggressive. He is plenty aggressive enough already with no further encouragement.

Yep. He is a good passer, butaybe he doesn't have the vision sort of like Kyrie.

I'm wondering if he is the show of the future. His catch and shoot numbers are so good. Could he replace JR? Also makes another guy in the starting lineup who can take it to the hoop.

I guess it depends on whether he or Hood play better with LeBron, but early reports say Jordan .

Really wish he would pass more when doubled, and not settle for jumpers when he can get to the hoop. He is really close o being a really amazing guard. I dunno if he will get there

This guy needs to be coached, he has a low basketball IQ and team basketball understanding, he basically tries to score every single time he touches the basketball, no matter how bad the shot is if the ball is in his hands he is chucking no matter what.

He has all the tools to be a very good player but he needs to learn how to play as a part of a team and not just a one man show "watch me" style of basketball

I still am holding out hope for his play making because you saw the ability in the first few games, he was making some amazing passes and looked really comfortable in the 2 man game with Nance or Lebron hitting them on the move.

I think he is a guy that needs much more hands on coaching and development. You can't just tell him to "play his game" and "be aggressive" or he will regress into bad habits, he needs structure and someone staying on his ass to take that next step IMO.

Everyone claiming Lue or the staff hurt him by telling him to "be aggressive" clearly didn't watch him in LA. This is who he is. He's going to take shots, a lot of them, when he has the ball. Frankly, you're better off telling him to do that than you are trying to make him a passer. He's not. You'd just be shoving a square peg in a round hole, and everyone would be pissed for different reasons.

I think we just need to find the right role for him on the team. The kid can score, and at times looks like he can defend. I agree that he needs to play as a scorer not as a PG. It is going to be interesting come playoff time how we do rotations. I love the idea of starting Korver at the 2, and having Hood & Clarkson come off the bench. The hard part, is once we get to the playoffs, we will not have mins for another PG outside of Hill. We would need to stagger the mins, to have Hill, Love, LJ on the court with him.

Wait a minute. You're trying to say that "not telling" an already naturally aggressive player to "be more aggressive, be yourself" versus telling him those things won't have a moderating effect on said aggression? And, are you saying it would be a hopeless or lost cause to ask him to consider doing some drive and kick, or to point out on tape the opportunities being lost because of his failure to do so on specific plays?
