So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Worst game he has had. Hate when he shoots over the double. Very low percentage shot for him and Kyle Korver was open .

Needs to kick to the 3 pt line or get it to the roll guy.

Clarkson is offensively inefficient, but defensively effective. I think he will remain a second squad guy until he figures out how to score more points than shots taken..

He is? He seems to get lost off the ball a lot

The synergy stats bear this out he's good in isolation and guarding the PnR handler (real good 90%) but he's horrible (< 20% percentile) on PnR handler and spot up shooters.
Dude learned all the wrong lessons from Kobe: I hated Kobe and his mini-me Clarkson is pushing me into that territory. Just wants the glory and think of basketball not as a team sport

Synergy has more detail.. i am going off 82 games opponent production, where Clarkson allows the least of any player currently on the roster..

I agree he makes mistakes, but i think he is active on defense, which is more that i can say about some. I might say that this getting lost defensively is a problem for the team generally. That and all of our centers allow lots of points. I wonder how much of that is the players and how much is the defensive scheme..

Too many expect players to get better

Only stars get better

If all players got better all players would be good players

In coaching or for that matter in any field where you manage people and their behaviors you have to treat each person as an individual and give them different goals, instruction and training depending on your evaluation and assessment of how they fit into your organization's structure.

We don't have all the inside info regarding what JC has been told or not told by the coaching staff, but based on anecdotal and media coverage, plus what we all see on the court, it appears that JC is just getting the boilerplate mantra of "be aggressive/take your shots/be yourself".

If it is a fact that these are things he's being coached to do by the Cavs organization (and I have little way to know one way or another what he is or isn't being told) then this would be management and coaching malpractice.

Everything about JC's past indicates he needs to be coached up to strive for things like efficiency and assists. His track record indicates he is happy to jack up forced and contested shots until the cows come home, and he is not predisposed to pass on bad shots or to look for the outlet pass after he's drawn in the defense.

A player like Clarkson should be getting a much different message than guys like Hill who are reluctant and conservative in being aggressive. One size does NOT fit all.

I’m thinking about how Clarkson’s style of play translates to playoff basketball. The pace slows down tremendously, possessions get way more valuable, court shrinks. ISO becomes something you have to do. Clarkson could honestly be the most athletic ball handler on the court in that series. Him lighting up 32 year old Shaun Livingston for 15 mins per game could be huge. LBJ and Kyrie being ridiculously efficient on that end of the floor won us the series once. We’re going to need some of that from Clarkson.

Huh??? Maybe I’m not picking up on the sarcasm. You’re saying players can’t improve over the course of their career? That doesn’t even make sense.

Clarkson is a proven scorer. There’s no reason to think he can’t improve when put into a winning environment with a group of solid vets teaching him.

Least Favorite Cav in the "playoff rotation". Such a dumb player

He's really not playing to his strengths. I really wonder what happened. Had a really good stretch at the end of the year where he was closing games and playing great .

He actually had a couple of good passes tonight after penetration. If he keeps doing that he'll be overall positive

Looked passive out there. Maybe Rodney and George are rubbing off on him..
