So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Its very clear why the Lakers were so eager to unload him.

He's Jamal Crawford without the shotmaking.

We got taken for a fucking ride in that Lakers trade. Absolutely smoked.

Koby and one of the analytics guys needs to sit down with him and break down the 5 best spots for him on the floor then tell him to spend 90% of the offseason only working on those shots. He can spend the other 10% losing games of horse or whatever he usually does in practice.

Soundly disagree.

Nance looked liked he was well worth it until he got hurt, and Lue finds a way to continue to wreck our bench rotation. Clarkson could be good if he was paired with vets, but pairing him with Hood is the worst case scenario.

Moronic coaching makes it impossible to truly value our players.

Jordan Clarkson was #2 in bench scoring. It's remarkable on what's going on with him.

He isn't used to playing at a slow pace I know that. We ran in those first couple of games.

People are also forgetting that he closed a lot of games after the trade, and then he tapered off. I dunno what is up with him. Guess he cooled off. He usually hits more 3's than that.

I did notice that he would often have a bad shooting night, but with enough shots he would get in a rhythm until he had a decent percentage. Maybe he isn't getting enough shots and is stuck in his pre-rhythm suckitude.

I have to believe nance is hurt still, he has almost no explosion anymore.

I have watched him a bit..he defers to Lebron too much and he dribbles too much , while trying to create and gets trappedor turns the ball over.
He does much better in the open court but he needs to be under control in a half court game.
A lot of that is coaching him up.

Somewhat agree with you (especially about the strange rotations Clarkson is being put into), but Nance is historically fragile. That was a known drawback of trading for him and really the biggest reason LA was willing to be rid of him. And he is presumably hurt right now when we really need him healthy.

Availability also matters when evaluating a trade.

I said it at the time of the trade...we should have gotten both of them without including our 1st. Obviously I was met with a bit of an objection.

Lakers had no intentions of keeping both of them. It's not about being fine with letting Nance go, they wanted to re-sign Randle and have the cap space to sign two FA in the summer. We were also the only team that could realistically provide them with such expirings.

It's fine, it's already been done. We need to stop making such lopsided trades though, and when we do make them at least fucking get players that are going to play/contribute positively. What a blunder, and it's not just Koby's fault.

Again I would just say it's hard to evaluate these guys under Lue. Every single one of the players we brought in was playing better immediately before coming here and before Lue had time to coach them in his "system" the first few games they all looked good.

I'm not saying it's all Lue's fault either. With Lebron here the idea of developing players goes out the window vs winning now, but it's not hard to see with guys like Zizic showing promise and getting buried that we aren't putting alot of these younger players in the greatest position.

This is why I said it wasn't only Koby's fault. Still, Rodney Hood and Clarkson (I love Nance and Loved him on the Lakers) while athletic/long, are low IQ players that play only one side of the ball and were not highly impactful players even on their former respective teams. So I get that they are underperforming, but they are still not optimal even in a vacuum.

Lue's issues are plenty and it starts with playing them in net negative 5 man lineup combination. Obviously playing Nance at the 5 is wrong in the short and long term as he is a 4(I'm not sure he is even taller than Cedi tbh and he didn't play the 5 @ Lakers). Playing him at the 5(As a starter) and playing him for 20+ minutes straight for a bunch of games I believe certainly contributed to his injury...which is a shame because he had been by far the most impactful players coming out of the trades.

So like I said, total blunder.

I hope someone in the organization has the sense enough to tell Nance the biggest thing he needs to work on in the summer is his 3 point shot. It would make it that much easier to play him at PF and should help preserve him.
