I like his shooting and he can alter some shots for us at the rim

I assume Hawes will come off the bench in his first game. While Andy is out, do people think it is best to have Hawes start with Thompson? Or have him come off the bench with Bennett?

I just hope a change of scenery and coming into a better environment puts some fire in his belly. He is in a contract year after all.

Initial reaction; Stewie likey..

Stretch C/PF with a great reputation of being highly "coach-able'

Fills a role while still only 25..

This move gives us all kinds of front-court options, and could be the solution (in combination with Zeller & Bennett s improving jumpers)
to the 'floor spacing' issues that have plagued our offensive rhythm...

Welcome Spencer!! You're a weird looking dude but you'll be rocking the Wine& Gold now so you're alright in my book..

Zeller needs to start for the time being. While their skill sets don't mesh well, I do like our least experienced big and our most experienced big (that is healthy) playing together.

I assume Hawes will come off the bench until Brown achieves some level of comfort. If he picks things up quickly, I would hope he tries Hawes with Thompson/Irving/Waiters/Deng for long enough stretches to see how that works in terms of floor spacing. As Griffin mentioned in the presser, it would be possible for Hawes to play beside most of the other bigs. From an offensive standpoint, it would make the most sense to split up Varejao/Thompson in some way on the offensive side.

That said, Brown is going to start Varejao/Thompson and keep them in for long stretches together because he trusts them most on defense, and it will drive us all crazy....
