Figured I would make this ahead of time so the people that see it can discussand talk freely about it.

Anyone seen it yet? Seeing it tomorrow.

I keep hearing really good things, and then some not so great things. Cinemablend called the movie "good, not great -- just.. 'good.'"

Can't wait to see it though.. Already bought it for two showings.. But I may end up seeing it 3 times between now and next week.

Have a feeling a large chunk of my weekend will be spent in this thread. Until such time as I've seen it, I must avoid this thread.

I will post one spoiler from Mr. Sunday Movies. 50's diner owner Dexter from Episode 2 is not in it. Hopefully, no one has any darts they need to identify.

I like Dex, and really like that entire diner scene in Episode 2. I cannot understand why people disliked it so much.

Episode 2's A-Story, the one surrounding Obi-Wan, was actually really good. It was Episode 2's B-Story that really let it down.

It was creative, just really weird that there's a 50s diner in Coruscant and it's head chef is the only one who could analyze a poisoned dart.

Ewan MacGregor was really good throughout the entire Prequels, IMO. "You were the Chosen One".

It doesn't surprise me that they don't want to totally leave the prequels behind. Kids like those movies, so you have to give them a little fan service too with everything they're doing for the adults that love the originals.

It was great... The A-story of Ep.2 is a detective story. Obi-Wan is tracking down a bounty hunter, and this guy who probably was in some kind of nefarious profession before has settled down and opened a diner on Coruscant.

I thought it was awesome actually, but people seem to dislike the scene.

Agreed.. He was good. So was Liam Neeson.. Hell the poor acting was primary due to Hayden and Natalie's lack of direction. Those two, in the role of the leads, really can't act without it, so it seems.

My understanding is that this new film completely ditches the prequels. Basically nothing is mentioned of them, but there are countless original trilogy references..

If you look at it as a noir film, then sure. But too much cheese for it to really connect as a noir scene.

You can tell JJ made this movie with the intentional info that you have to infer. JJ knows how to do loose ends without it feeling like a gap. Good stuff, though, kept my attention. BB8 is adorable

So is Rey actually Luke's daughter? What exactly happened there at the end if that light saber battle? I like how we don't know who Snoke is, plus the Wizard of Oz quality to him. Very interesting...

Poe will be a big deal in the later movies. I'm calling it.

I liked it. It had a bit of charm and had some what of the same atmosphere that the first trilogy had, which I found impressive. Though, it felt like it was just the beginning to a story, didn't quite feel whole, or stand on its own. With that said, episode VIII is set up beautifully.
