Star Wars Force Awakens viewing thread (spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, it was just so off-putting. Every action scene had Finn tripping over himself or some gag with a close call, followed by some campy one liner. I dunno, my friends loved it but it wasn't my cup of tea at all.

Yea, by the second viewing I realized it was terrible...

I think a lot of people get sucked into the hype and the experience of seeing Star Wars.

Seriously, The Phantom Menace was EXACTLY the same way when it came out... I know it's cool to rag on the prequels now, but back when Ep. I came out; it was widely praised by everyone I knew/read, including myself..

It wasn't until much later that people started to accept how flawed that movie was. Rolling Stone gave a 3/5; Roger Ebert called it a "visionary masterpiece" .. the movie sucked, but, nonetheless the hype was real.

Meh. I agree there was more humor than I'd have liked in TFA, but I still enjoyed it and didn't think it was anywhere near the slapstick humor level you guys are acting like. I like the film, you guys hated it, we've already been down this road so we agree to disagree.

I just saw Rogue One. Spoiler free thoughts: Slowwwwwwww start, climactic finish that for the most part makes up for it. I know I'm probably alone, but I found the ending to be somewhat surprising, too. But that's delving into spoilers.

Liked it a lot- flawed, for certain, but I had a blast with it. As I expected to. Will be more detailed when more people start posting about it. edit: Or I'll just go to the other thread!
