Texans' Record Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hopkins is going to have a worse year than he did with Osweiler especially since Watson cannot even throw the ball past 20 yards. Fantasy owners deal Hopkins while he has value.

I disagree, simply because it seems like Watson is feeding the hell out of Hopkins. There also won't be many games this year where the Texans are leading the whole time like last night, so they'll be passing a lot.

Watson though won't likely throw a deep ball, so I don't trust someone to be a number one WR in fantasy if the QB isn't able to make all the throws.

Judging by the guys arm?

Watson here would have been a disaster. It's early, but I imagine we'd be doom and gloom here. Not to mention he didn't want to play here.

So glad we passed on Watson. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but looking back, remember when 2 years out people were saying he would be the #1 pick? Goes to show how little people know about the upcoming QB classes.

If it proves anything, it's how difficult it is to get a look at QB talent when they're coached by Brian Kelly.

Well, I was speaking on Watson, but on Kizer...I've been a believer since day one. Not that that means anything because I'm not a scout nor do I consider myself any more knowledgeable on football than anyone else, but put me in the group that wants a big, strong guy who can make all the throws when I start looking for a franchise QB. I'm not saying that is everything, but that's what I start with then go from there. I wasn't sure if Kizer had the mentality for the game, but I'd say it's starting to look like he does.

Watson, again, was a studly college QB but I'm uninterested in these dual threat guys who try to make a bunch of plays with their legs. If they can turn him into someone who is primarily a pocket passer and uses his mobility to evade the rush and extend plays primarily, then that is great, but even then Watson is clearly limited by arm strength.

Right now, give me Kizer all day, and I admit I might be wrong but I'm at least not just jumping on a wagon because he has looked promising since being drafted. I was ecstatic when we got him without using a 1st rounder on him. Thought that was insane.

He needs a Bill Walsh-esque West Coast Offense in order to be successful. That also requires Watson to be accurate..which I'm a bit unsure if he has that capability.

The Texans are going to have dump O'Brien and find some dude from the Holmgren coaching tree in order for that to work. Also...draft some damn lineman...

oh...wait...;).

He's not going to be able to lob bombs for some sort of receiver to catch. He doesn't have the arm for it.

Notre Dame's (LACK) of success last year really made me pensive about going after Kizer.

hope he makes me look like a dumbass this season.

But guys, Deshaun Watson is Michael Jordan... :chuckle:

Yeah, when Jordan attempted another sport other than basketball.

In Watson's defense, he may be a hell of a hooper.

Watson has looked a lot like good ole Colt McCoy as a pro.

YPA of around 5, skittish in the pocket, tucks the ball at the first sign of pressure and doesn't keep his eyes downfield. Also had a couple passes that were almost taken back for TD's.

Also, Texans CB Kevin Johnson out 4-6

I'll admit, when I saw Kizer's combine, i did not think he would make it.

But his game tape last year was good. If it wasnt his constant switching to Zaire and that hurricane game, I wonder what could have been.

Deshaun Watson is so much worse than DeShone Kizer and it's not even funny.

He has no arm, and he's not comfortable at all in the pocket. He has bust just plastered all over him.
Would that make him the Michael Jordan of busts?

Or just Ryan Leaf 2.0 in the sense of busts.

I never liked nor never will like Watson. I didn't like Kizer either to be honest since I couldn't tell what he would be between the lines in the NFL, but at least he went to a situation that will try to get the best out of him. Houston is a Trainwreck just waiting to happen this season since they do not have a good coach, but no one believed me when I said that so this year you will see why they don't have a good coach.

I don't think it's that nobody believed you, it's just that nobody is listening to you.

I'm 99% positive there is a post on day one of this draft where I said Kizer was not only untouchable, but that I had completely forgot he was even in this draft.
