Just can't get excited for it again. Draft, as we have proven, is a crapshoot. Moreover, if Mike Brown is here, I have no confidence in his ability to develop said player.
Finally, as pointed out above, this group of losers doesn't need another young player to rely on. That's not going to help them.

I can't argue with this, even if there are posters who don't want to embrace the tank.
The Cavs tried to make the playoffs for 64 games, and they stand 7 games behind ATL (with the tiebreaker) in the loss column with 18 games to play.
On the other hand, they are 3 losses away from the 4th seed going into the draft lottery.
I am afraid we may need to rename this "the 2014-no-man's-land-thread", considering how there are so many terrible teams that are capable of losing even more and leaving the Cavs in the 7-10 region.
I agree with Rich that there are so many other things the Cavs need to get straightened out. But picking well is a start.

The decision to go against tanking was stupid. This core is simply not good enough to even be a fringe title contender in the future in the weak east and with a deep draft like this you tank. Not to mention even if the Cavs did make the playoffs (which won't happen) how does a sweep in the first round as an 8th seed with a losing record help the franchise out especially compared to a lottery pick in a loaded draft??
Thankfully this team and coach are so sorry that even with an effort to win and trades for veterans they have the tied 7th most amount of losses in the NBA and they are very close to the 4th spot in the lottery. The 3rd is even in reasonable reach. The team with the 4th most amount of losses is at 42 while this team is at 40...and it's a lottery so even a lower ranked team in the lottery can get a top 3 pick.
