The 2017 warriors will fail.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This team won't be as good as the 73-9 warriors. I think durant will miss the iso hero ball he and westbrook played in okc. The chemistry won't be like this season with the passing and great team defense. They're also mentally weak and don't respond well to adversity especially KD. He was a huge choker in the 2014, 2016 playoffs.

I wish I believed this was true. But they just replaced Harrison Barnes with the NBA's second or third best player. And he fits them perfectly. Steph, Klay, and Draymond (or even Durant) don't even need the ball to be effective, so Durant will still get his touches. And now you can't switch either because Durant will torch slow or undersized defenders one-on-one. And defensively Durant can switch everything as he proved last year against GSW. Sadly I think they will be much more dangerous in a playoff series.

They're a far better team.

Some folks are just being delusional. I get it, but it's better to face reality... They got better, and our roster (so far) has lost talent. We'll see what happens by the deadline, but I'm not exactly optimistic.

No.. why would they?

They're going to have to clear max cap space for Durant if he opts out, and both Steph and Iggy would be free agents with large cap holds.

This is a common misconception. They don't need to clear space for Durant. They can go over the cap to re-sign him to the full 10-year veteran max of 35% using the Non-Bird Rights Exception which permits 20% raises for 1-year tenured players..

GSW will be over the cap next year and will re-sign Durant and Curry to max salaries.

:(

Ah, well than the supposed cap expert, Windy, has it wrong then.

Either way, keep hope, brother. The basketball gods shined kindly on us, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Steph's cheese puff ankles go to shit again right after he signs the full max.

I've got my voodoo doll at the ready... Hopefully one of Durant and/or Curry will be hurt (not dead) come the Finals...

I see you in here @JMoneyYourHoney .. :chuckle:

Durant signed for 26.5 mil. 20% Raise for next year puts him at 31.8. Max salary will be 33.9mil next year. Warriors are 2 mil short.

Are you sure..? That salary figure was what was reported day 1, but numerous reports have stated that Durant actually signed for the full max.

If you're going off Sportrac, I dunno if that's accurate.

A full max is only 26.8. A 20% raise only gets him to 32.1, still short.
