The Brian Hoyer thread...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
O'Brien should be fired immediately for continuing to play the likes Hoyer and even Mallet over the great Tom Savage.

As somebody who was too classy to bump this thread as he played very well, I'll continue to be classy by pointing out how terrible all the Texans have played so far, especially defensively, on the day it isn't so easy. Really a total shit show from top to bottom for the Texans.

Anyone notice how awful Luck and the Colts has been today at home? It happens to everyone a handful of times a season.

Hopefully my classiness rubs off on you. Probably not, though.

First the Texans draft predraft RCF darling Jaelen Strong, now they sign Josh Lenz to the practice squad. I know you are feeling the temptation...

The stars at night are big and bright...

*clap, clap, clap clap*

Class class class.

Are you trying to like...make fun of me for this or something?

The guy is still in the league and easily provided more value where he was taken than where...your boy...Manziel was taken.

You can probably just sit this one out...no?

One thing I've never understood is why defending him is so important to you?

Honestly asking. No trolling.

My boy? You're mistaken.

Savage has played in 2 games in his career, has lost his only start (he didnt throw a pass in garbage time of the other game), and is the 3rd string QB behind two QBs whose careers are going nowhere. Its safe to say he has provided absolutely zero value in his career, let alone more than Manziel.

So you might want to sit this one out, Mel Kiper.

Every GM in the league would take Savage where he went over Manziel and where he went.

Shit, most of them probably would take him in the first over Manziel and be happy with it.

At least he's got some talent that can be developed.

I enjoy pointing out how consistent trolling is so I don't have to explain myself when bad posters take their time off.

Rough week for the Texans whole team. I'm expecting pundits to focus on the horrid performance of their defense rather than the below-par Hoyer first half performance... because that is actually what has cost the Texans the season.

You're definitely right that the Texans' defense has been brutal. I'd say they are the only D performing worse than the Browns based on pre-season prognostications.

Couldn't agree more, the defensive coordinator shouldn't make it through the next few weeks. I'm not going to deny Hoyer was awful in that first half, but I find it odd nobody wanted to discuss his good three weeks. When the O-Line and defense all shit the bed, Foster blows his Achilles, and of course Hoyer plays an unquestionably bad first half, members want to talk Hoyer. Pretty clear what's happening, and its not an actual discussion.

Hoyer must be the most unlucky fella in the league.

I can only speak for myself, but I didn't bring him up because I don't care about him anymore. I was legitimately interested to see how he did this year outside of the hoopla of the Browns' situation, and imo he's proven himself to be a middle of the road QB that like McCown will have his ups (like the last few weeks) and downs (like today) but ultimately will never be a great QB nor lead a team to greatness by himself.

As a Browns fan I'm much happier that we have McCown because he's at the stage in his career where he's accepted what he is in the league and will do what is needed to help a young QB (including being a willing backup), whether that's for JFF' Davis, or someone we draft this year. Hoyer, rightfully, is trying to prove that he's worth someone investing their time and money in as a true starter, and that's not what we need. Imo, the sooner he accepts his lot in the NFL instead of shooting for the moon (and big contract) the better, especially since he could be sitting on $4-5M a year for the next 5-6 years if he plays nice.
