Can someone post examples of buyout players that actually had an impact on the floor in a playoff run…

The buyout market, on the other hand, is the rule. Markieff Morris was an essential component of the Lakers' championship run last season. P.J. Brown got the 2008 Boston Celtics into the Eastern Conference finals. Boris Diaw landed with the San Antonio Spurs in 2012 and wound up staying as a critical reserve on their 2014 championship team. These are the most famous examples, and not every champion or finalist makes a meaningful addition in the middle of the season, but it is the avenue of roster-building that is most often available to the best teams, and is therefore the one that they most often at least attempt to use.

PJ Brown joined the Celtics late that year, and hurt the Cavs in the playoffs, but he was not a buyout. He hadn't played all season. Cassell, also for the Celtics, was bought out before joining them for that championship run.

Well Boris Diaw is the one that will always be remembered.

Went from awful contract playing awful basketball to being a really, really good player on a team that won a couple of titles.

Also, if he can actually stay healthy, LMA is gonna be a monster buy-out player this post-season. He's still really good and will have a major impact for the Nets.

LMA is a potential buy-out? If so put him to the top of my list.

Why would he get bought out

He looked bad in the 2017 Finals, but Deron Williams had a part in the Cavs run to that point when they got him.

Shooter, shooter, shooter. Someone that can hang on the perimeter.
