The Chubb-Hub Yardage Delivery Service

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Chubb was a great pick.

I was skeptical. I do not like taking a runningback that high because most studies show that RBs - on average - are a product of their offensive line.

Elusive rating - which, in my opinion, is the best way to differentiate an average runningback from a great one - looks at yards gained after first contact. As of right now, Nick Chubb has the seventh highest elusive rating in the NFL and highest for anyone with over 50 rush attempts.

Chubb is a stud.

Formula = (Missed Tackles Forced) / (Designed Run Attempts + Receptions) * (Yards After Contact Per Attempt * 100)

I was wrong about this guy. Thought he looked slow last year. He’s clearly an athletic freak.

It should also be noted that Nick Chubb broke a ton of all pro thresholds at the combine.

Dude was a lock to be a great RB.
I think the last time a rookie played this well at RB as Todd Gurley. And Gurley is one of probably five current RBs to be noticeably better than their offensive line makes them.

Chubb looks to be that good.

Craziest thing is that Rashaad Penny was drafted before Chubb, Michel, and Guice.

I liked Penny coming into the draft but he wasn't the second-best RB in it by any stretch of the imagination.

I believe Dorsey was fit to select Penny if he were available.

I wouldn't have hated us drafting Penny. I just would have disliked it over Chubb and Guice. Michel too provided his knees checked out, but we don't have access to that information, just rumors.

Ready to move him into that top 15?

He looked slow last year because it was his first year back from the knee injury. Usually takes guys a full season to get back to full speed.
It was actually his 2nd year back, but with an injury as bad as his, I think he’s progressively gotten better over the past two years.

He’s clearly all the way back now, if not evidenced by his ability to pull away from NFL DB’s.
