The General Terrorist Rampage Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You literally just said yesterday that there was just the one person to blame in the attack in Charlottesville. When I said that doesn't make sense given your positions in this thread and the French Terror Attack threads, you said I somehow had you pegged wrong...

Now, only not even 24 hours later, you post this?

Do you think that's self-consistent behavior?
I think it's fair to ask if white nationalist ideology played a role just like we discuss whether Islam plays a role in these terrorist attacks.

ISIS. What a bunch of lazy bums. They claim responsibility for everything.

I had a once in a decade shit yesterday and boom. ISIS claimed responsibility.

You literally said yesterday that the people that commit terrorist attacks represent the groups they belong to.

You don't think the Nazi driver represented the Nazis marching?

I think this ISIS-bomber likely represents ISIS....

I'm not seeing the disconnect.. unless you're talking about .. representing Muslims? But that'd, again, be like saying the Nazi driver represented Whites -- and no one said that, and no one should.

Do Salafi Jihadists represent Salafis as a whole? Damn right they do

But let's support Saudi Arabia some more

Why are you equating Nazism with Islam and not ISIS?

Extremist Islamism is not Islam.

Extremist Islamism is not Islam.
Because we were discussing whether core beliefs in Islam justified acts of terror seen by Isis and other extremist groups.

I literally said they represent ISIS and extremists, not the Muslim faith as a whole, which is what YOU were trying to argue.

Jesus Christ man, are you even reading these arguments?

FWIW Ty, we never really got to the core beliefs of Islam or any kind of religious discussion whatsoever. I had hoped we could discuss Islam from a religious standpoint, but, it was instead always within the context of a contemporary political question as to whether or not Islam had somehow uniquely caused more violence than other religions, comparatively.

So the structure of the question always devolved into whether or not Islam caused more ethical harm than other religions, comparatively speaking....

What makes them an extremist? Are they an extremist before they commit an act of terrorism or once they do? Every Islamic terrorist is not associated with Isis or another terrorist group. They are, however, all associated with Islam. Islam is the ideology that leads to them becoming radicalized. They say that they are killing in the name of Islam. Islam is the ideology they associate themselves with, just like Nazis associate themselves with Nazism.

You really need to slow yourself down and think about what you're typing.

You're diverting from the point you just made, because obviously I didn't say what you accused me of.

Now you're shifting the argument to Islam..

Just take a deep breath. I'm not going to dive head first into an argument with you on Islam, but your comparison from yesterday remains asinine and the answer has been discussed many times in this thread.

Oh wow..........

You're talking about more than 1.6 billion people.

No, he's referring to the members of the extremist groups. Not all 1.6 billion Muslims. What you're doing is the same thing Cenk did to Harris. It's very disingenuous.

No, he's actually not, he specifically makes his point clear... read what he said.

Here is his quote:

"What makes them an extremist? Are they an extremist before they commit an act of terrorism or once they do? Every Islamic terrorist is not associated with Isis or another terrorist group. "

They are, however, all associated with Islam.

Islam is the ideology that leads to them becoming radicalized.

just like Nazis associate themselves with Nazism.
