The General Terrorist Rampage Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So what if he was here for seven years? (1) Doesn't mean he wasn't pre-disposed to islamic radicalism - more so than native-born Americans - when he came here. (2) And certainly, he wouldn't have been radicalized here if he never came here in the first place..

Also, he came here via chain migration, which Trump rightly wants to end.

(1) How do you prove this claim? I mean, on what basis is this even rational?

(2) So... to substantiate your earlier unsupported claim you advocate banning all immigration based off the chance they could be radicalized here? Even if they hail from a nation not on the Muslim ban list? "If we let no one in, they can't get radicalized here?"

Oh, I'd agree you can't prove that he came here pre-disposed to being radicalized. But you also cannot assume that he was just as easily radicalized for ISIS as would be any native American, and hence was "homegrown". Can't prove either.

As for it being a rational possibility...people who themselves are immigrants to this country commit a disproportionate share of ISIS/radical Islam-related terrorist attacks, compared to people who were born in this country. Would you agree that is true?

(2) So... to substantiate your earlier unsupported claim you advocate banning all immigration....

Wait -- In which post did I advocate banning all immigration, or even all immigration from Muslim-majority countries?

Are there countries that have super stringent immigration policies? What are their terror attack statistics like?

Don't have stats really, but the nations with the toughest immigration tend to be Western nations. Japan has almost a very low Muslim population, a small non-native population in general, and zero (I believe) Islamic terrorist attacks. They are mostly homogeneous and have really strict gun laws as well, so they are an interesting case to look at.

Canada is much smaller but has friendlier immigration laws. Their biggest recent terrorist attack was a man shooting up a Mosque.

If anyone has a more comprehensive breakdown, I'd be interested to see. What really troubles me is that in these same population where we are worried about poisoned Skittles sneaking in and attacking us, we have the majority of potential victims to Islamic terrorism. I think bringing in more refugees and opening up immigration DOES come with problems, but there is another humanitarian side that thus far has outweighed that risk for me (especially considering how often we see death at the hands of citizens and long-term residents).

Dude, I've grown to like you as a poster...but you really need to lay off the InfoWars shit. It's cancer. It's the news equivalent of a prosperity preacher. Hate the liberal media all you want, but don't stoop to the lowest rung on the ladder just because of other media bias.
Sorry, it was late and I saw the picture of the NYT tweet without really paying attention to who was tweeting it. I've followed PJW for a while now, since before the Info Wars stuff, so I also sometimes forget that he's involved with them now.

Well, Japan is one major industrialized nation that has a very restrictive immigration policy, is hated by ISIS, but which ISIS has been unable to strike at home.
The last terrorist attack in Japan was by an all-Japanese religious cult in 1994. Nothing since. That is despite ISIS labelling Japan a member of the "Satanic Coalition", and threatening to kill many more Japanese, in addition to a hostage they had taken:

The Islamic State terror group calls Japan an ally of a "Satanic coalition" and warns that it has "an entire army thirsty for your blood" in a video showing the beheading of a second Japanese hostage, Kenji Goto.

"To the Japanese government: You, like your foolish allies in the Satanic coalition, have yet to understand that we, by Allah's grace, are an Islamic caliphate with authority and power, an entire army thirsty for your blood," says the man in English in a video released Friday, according to the SITE Intelligence group.

"Abe, because of your reckless decision to take part in an unwinnable war, this knife will not only slaughter Kenji, but will also carry on and cause carnage wherever your people are found," adds the man known as "Jihadi John" holding a knife in his hand and standing behind Goto, who can be seen kneeling and wearing an orange outfit. "So let the nightmare for Japan begin."

Tokyo strongly condemned the alleged killing and vowed not to give in to terrorists.

I don't know, but the answer probably won't be helpful. You would need to know the terror attack statistics for countries with super stringent immigration policies that have also been actively killing Muslims in countless countries for decades.

Naw, continue post what you like as long as you think the information is good and informative. Who cares where it comes from.

You don't need to apologize to him or anyone.

A New York woman accused of sending bitcoin to ISIS could spend 90 years in prison

  • Zoobia Shahnaz is accused of sending cash to ISIS via cryptocurrencies.
  • The US Department of Justice says the 27-year-old New Yorker funnelled $62,000 to the group via bitcoin and other currencies.
  • She is standing trial in New York and faces 90 years in prison if convicted.

A New York woman charged with sending money to the terrorist group ISIS in the form of bitcoin faces as much as 90 years in prison.

Zoobia Shahnaz, an American from Long Island, is accused of funnelling $62,000 to the group via bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies earlier this year.

Shahnaz took out more than a dozen credit cards earlier this year and used the money she borrowed to buy cryptocurrency and send it abroad, according to an indictment filed by US attorneys in federal court.

A press release by the Department of Justice said she sent more than $150,000, or £112,000, to benefit the terrorist group, also known as the Islamic State or ISIL, but it did not specify what form the other $88,000 took.

The release said Shahnaz "engaged in a pattern of financial activity, culminating in several wire transactions, totaling over $150,000, to individuals and apparent shell entities in Pakistan, China, and Turkey."

It added: "These transactions were designed to avoid transaction reporting requirements, conceal the identity, source and destination of the illicitly obtained monies, and, ultimately, benefit ISIS."

She tried to leave the US for Syria via Pakistan and Turkey but was stopped before she left the country, according to the release.

Shahnaz was indicted on five counts before the Eastern District of New York's federal court. They are three counts of money laundering, one of bank fraud, and one of conspiracy to money launder.

If convicted on all counts, she could spend 90 years in federal prison: 20 for each count of money laundering and 30 for fraud.

This is not the first time terrorist groups have been linked to funding via cryptocurrencies.

Terrorists have increasingly started to use bitcoin over the past few years, increasing from about 100 daily transactions in 2009 to 282,000 daily transactions in 2017 so far, the Council on Foreign Relations said.

The Ibn Taymiyyah Media Center, a jihadi propaganda group in Gaza, started soliciting funds on bitcoin — at least $2,500 for each fighter — as early as June 2016, according to the former CIA counterterrorism analyst Yaya Fanusie.
