Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just heard Lowe's podcast from this afternoon.

All three of Lowe, Sherbourne, and Windy both independently heard the same thing which was that the Pacers', under new management, want to give it another year and see if they can try to convince him.

Basically...

The Paul George info isn't mindless speculation.

But I don't think that LA is as bad as it seems after jumping into it a bit. The Clippers have had success in past actually guarding KD with CP3 because the guy is a pitbull. Having the athleticism Of LeBron, Griffin, and Jordan would be pretty spectacular. 3 guys who all play above the rim, Griffin's outside shot has improved a lot so he can stretch the court from 4, and a true distributor at PG who plays much better D than Kyrie although significantly older.

And IMO, Jordan is significantly better than TT. That kinda swings the deal into an acceptable range to me....

This sounds terrible. Problem is our spacing would completely suck, LeBron needs room to operate in the paint. Griffin might be improved, but the defense will be plenty happy to clog the lane and let him shoot threes. Also, while Jordan is way better than TT, his free throws are just atrocious. At least he commands a bit more attention than TT offensively though. But he can be taken out of the game by fouling him.

Also, CP3 and Griffin always seem to get injured. Love and Kyrie have a history as well, but not such the extent as those two.

CP3 can come here for the MLE if he wants to win.

That's going to have to be one hell of a sell job to convince him that he can win in Indiana anytime soon. They can't even beat the Cavs right now, not to mention what would happen if they somehow were to miraculously get to the Finals and play the Warriors.

How about this as a baseline deal?

Cleveland
- Paul George

Portland
- Kevin Love

Indiana
- CJ McCollum + Portland 2017 1st-rounder No. 15 or 20

Cavs assume PG-13's contract risk.

Portland gets all-star big to pair with Lillard. Clear out SG logjam.

Pacers get 25-year-old elite shooter on fresh 4-year deal and picks.

Portland would never do this. They wouldn't trade McCollum for Love, straight up.

McCollum is really good people.

Portland is interesting though. They have some draft picks, and relatively good young players like Noeh Vonleh, Mo Harkless, and Nurkic, that could entice Indy in a three-way, if they'd be willing to move that for Love.

That is there way of pretending like they have leverage in this situation. PG holds the power.

Dwayne wade can opt out this year and a bunch of Cyptic tweets lately. If that was a possibility, and Love for George was on the table, now would be the time to slide lebron to the 4... Hmm, would this match up with the warriors..

Kyrie
Dwade
Paul George
Lebron
TT

On paper I'd definetly take it over the warriors current lineup of

Steph
Klay
Kd
draymond
zaza

I would not take that lineup over the Warriors lineup. Wade is a nice bench piece but he's not anywhere near the player he used to be. I want him matching up with Igoudala and Livingston, not Klay.

TT is a huge problem right now for us, the Warriors barely pay any attention to him on offense. He's almost unplayable.

Now, substitute Love for TT and you have yourself a damn good chance.

If we have to move Love or Kyrie for George, I'd rather movie Kyrie.

I disagree that trading Love for George doesn't greatly close the gap between the Cavs and Warriors.

It might not put us neck and neck with them, but I definitely don't think we'd be another star player away from taking them out. I think you'd be a philosophical change with the rest of the roster away. That means getting rid of some of these older one-trick ponies and surrounding Kyrie-George-LeBron with relatively young length and athleticism. Nothing crazy either...Derrick Williams fits the mold. James Johnson was another example available to us this offseason. These aren't world beaters, they're just fresh quick bodies that can fly around the court.

A Love for George swap gets us VERY close, in my opinion. How you make that work with a 3rd team is anyone's guess though.

Anytime you can trade one way players for two way players you do and it improves your team.

I hope you're okay with Felder being our starting point guard, then.

Because there would be literally, no one, even respectable we'd be able to fill that void with.

And in today's game, you better have an all-star caliber point guard.

I love the people that are ready to give up on Kyrie after one game. It's like you never thought he helped lead us to a title.

And this is not me bashing Love by the way. I think he's a fantastic player. But you move him, just because as a team, we don't have a vacant hole at his position.

Given LeBron would probably play the 4, then.

With Kyrie, we have no point guard. And you can't ask LB to play that position all the time, IMO. Let alone guard that position.

Good luck with that Indy management. PG wants to contend. Anything the Pacers can slapstick together next year won't compete with the Cavs as currently constructed. PG knows that. He could force the issue by letting the Pacers no he has no plans on resigning with them in 2018, forcing them into a trade. If the PG thing is realistic in the slightest, i don't think it happens next year regardless.

I don't think trading Love is the answer, at least not yet. We need a big 4 to match GS's big 4. I know PG gives us the matchup we want against Durant but you're still going to have to outplay the ENTIRE GS team regardless.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a D-Wade or Melo added to this team next year via some sort of buy-out agreement. People claiming we only get over the proverbial hump (haven't even played GM 3 folks) by only adding a top 20 guy seem a little butt hurt about Durant in general. I believe that an Ariza type on this team would move the needle in the short run.

Get PG for a package including Love then try to improve the bench and hope JR gets back to last years form with a (hopefully) less stressful year next year for him. That and maybe the warriors losing Iggy could make things a bit interesting.

Trade TT for someone who will leave regardless (PG, Melo, etc.) at the trade deadline.

This team cannot afford getting rid of Kevin Love.
