Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Is anybody interested in why Rudy Gay opted out of his contract coming off the worst basketball injury?

Do you think teams offer him a boatload?

Is it possible LeBron pulls a Draymond and convinces him to join Cavs for the whatever money we can create? A. Does he want to to win? B. Does he want $$ and lose(or lose when it matters most)

Rudy Gay > Iggy

come take our tax exception Rudy, please, please, please.

It's really a shame that Gay was injured, because he would have been the perfect trade target involving Shumpert earlier this season.

I don't even know if Rudy is better than Iggy ?? Iggy is just ridiculously opportunistic out there and really plays a great overall floor game and plays with a high IQ and is content in his role...

Maybe Rudy Gay could be that guy but I've never looked at him as that type of guy...

Yeah it's not a given, but imagine Gay being in the same role, I think he can excel playing against backups, and/or being the 1st man off the bench. He's still a hybrid to me. Cavs need hybrids.

I just need to know why he opted out of that guaranteed money with his injury? He must've really wanted out of that situation. But I really hope he draws LeBron's interest.

This off-season is on LeBron's shoulders more than ever. He has to reach out and express his genuine thoughts on playing with select player.

Unfortunately, we have no way to sign Rudy Gay; we can't realistically pull of a sign-and-trade, and we have no cap space and we're in the tax.

Once Gay opted out; he can no longer be considered an option for the Cavs this off-season.

I'm really curious as to how people think that the Cav's are going to get Iggy or other free agents. Of course, the minimum is an option but why would Iggy leave a great situation for the minimum? He could just sign that there. Not to mention, GS will not do a sign and trade with the Cavs...

What the Cav's have to do is forget about Superstars. All of that is just muck. What the Finals came down to was Game 2 and the role players. The Cav's have a lot of rotation players that are not very good. When everyone is begging for Derrick Williams (who was given up on by terrible teams), there's a problem. There's simply too many non-contributors and consistently underwhelming guys. In today's game, to play with the Warriors, you need as many ball handlers and creators as possible. Teams like San Antonio, Toronto and Utah are great at this. For instance:

RJ Tucker/Joe Johnson
Thompson Diaw/Pau/
Shumpert George Hill/
Deron Lou Williams/Patty Mills

These are just some examples but it would really help a lot to have contributors in those roles. Those role players can play like stars on any given night, can be relied upon and give big contributions when needed.

Someone rip this trade apart and tell me who says no. I checked salaries on trade machine.

Cavs get:
Melo
PG
Thad Young

NYK get:
Tristan
Shump

Indiana gets:
Love
Courtney Lee

I believe the Cavs would say yes. Indiana would get Love. New York would get a great asset in Thompson. Thompson maybe more than they think they can get for Melo at this point. I always seem to overlook something when doing these crazy things, let me know what you think.

This, actually isn't a bad idea.

Cavs lineup would be super flexible.

Could really start any 5 of Kyrie, JR, LeBron, Melo, PG, Thad, or FA big (like Zaza and McGee).

Keeps bench strong as well.

Requires George to force the issue; but, yeah.. it works.

Just to add to the deal, you could do the same thing by involving Portland for CJ McCollum and having Love end up on the Blazers with the Pacers getting back McCollum... (see @jking948 , @Cratylus 's posts)

This was part of the master blow up I joked about in the other forums. If this happens, NYK would probably give up some sort of future pick to help grease the wheels for Indy. I think we also can retain Cedi without any issue.

We would need to find active rebounders though. We are giving up two top 20 rebounders in this trade.

Nene for vet min. Not sure who else. Maybe you can convince Taj to come on a vet min contract? Highly doubtful though.

I just have a really hard time believing that NY would take back Shumpert. I mean that whole JR/Shump trade really gave Phil a black eye, I can't imagine he'd take back Shump.

The team I am interested in is Philadelphia. They have a ton of cap space, young players, and an assload of draft picks. I think they could be used to help facilitate trade(s). I could see sending Tristan to Philadelphia. I think that would be a nice tandem between TT and Embiid. Jahlil Okafor seems to be on the either on the block or not in Philadelphia's plans. Could he be flipped to NY?

I'm thinking something like this:

Cleveland trades: Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert
Cleveland obtains: Carmelo Anthony and 2 future 2nd round picks (via PHI)

New York trades: Carmelo Anthony
New York obtains: Jahlil Okafor and Jerryd Bayless

Philadelphia trades: Jahlil Okafor, Jerryd Bayless, and 2 future 2nd round picks
Philadelphia obtains: Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert

I just think New York would prefer a younger big they could pair with Porzingis. If you get future draft picks, you could use those picks alongside Cedi to make additional trades.

Philly has some nice pieces, but I have no idea why they'd eat up that cap space with TT when they have Saric who is really a better fit next to Embiid.

I think NY turns it down honestly. Someone will give up an asset better than TT.

I think. But I hope otherwise

Wouldn't mind this either. I don't think NY is expecting too much in return.
