The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I feel like, if that were the case, the show wouldn't have waited so long to introduce him, or done it in such a half-assed manner.

Euron is a cool as shit character both within the actual work, and in a more meta sense of how stories are generally told.

He's introduced late in the novels, too. And generally, if someone is a major player, you will know them early on in the story. But the whole point of Euron is that he's here to not move main story along, he's here to completely fuck up the story and change the game on its head. His goals are like no one else's goals and his plans are entirely different from anyone we've seen.

He's introduced late, sure, but not nearly as late as on the show. He was also built up as very important during the fourth novel, as one of the main subplots of that novel followed various Iron Islands personalities and their interactions with him. On the show, he was a total afterthought last year and was quickly made to look like a fool. He wasn't treated like an important character at all.

Will somebody tell me what is going on between the legs of Greyworm? Is he full Ken doll? Does he have a little penis stump? Balls? Droopy, ball-less sack like a deflated balloon?

I don't know why I need to know, but I do.

They cut everything off the Unsullied.

I will defer to jack for the information that he provided for the unsullied because I never read the books. However, in history eunuchs only usually have their balls cut off. This does not make it impossible to have sex actually. Eunuchs can have sex but they cannot have children. So the thinking was that it wasn't a big deal if a eunuch is having sex with your wife because he's not going to actually fertilize her. So while he's engaging in sexual conduct, it isn't actually a threat to you.

Being a eunuch usually leads to a longer lifespan and a taller height than having balls strangely. I know it seems weird that I know this, but I had a theory that Michael Jackson was a eunuch because his dad didn't want his singing voice to change, so I did some research. I don't think it is true now.

They explain it in the books. They actually mention that one of the reasons is because leaving them with the penis is troublesome since they can still get an erection.

The below quote is from the Ice & Fire wiki:

"The eunuchs are fully castrated, with their penis and testicles cut, and their manhoods are burned at the altar of the Lady of Spears. This means that they cannot be as strong as whole men, but this is more than made up for by discipline. They regularly consume an elixir called the wine of courage to deaden their sensitivity to pain. They drink it with every meal, and every year feel less and less pain."

Read a theory, may have been mentioned, that Sam is writing A Song of Ice and Fire, and the Maester's mention to him last episode was an easter egg about that. He says some boring title of the book he's writing and Sam suggests something a little flashier. Idea there is the Maester is writing the book, and Sam will ultimately finish it. Part of the reasoning is the giant spherical object that hangs from the ceiling in the Citadel, the same thing that the show always opens with, so it must be important.

Kinda makes me sad cause it would mean things ultimately turn out ok. Was hoping for worldwide annihilation!

Nothing turns out ok for Martin. While everything may end and Sam is writing the story (speculation) there may be nothing left and whoever sits on the iron throne (Or whatever throne) may be the king or queen of the ashes

When that scene occurred, I was half expecting Sam to say something like "You should call it 'A Clash of Kings'" or something else self referential.

The Citadel passes down knowledge, perhaps all but it is wiped out.
