The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's a thought. But I mean...don't the books tell us he gives EVERY baby boy to the walkers? And the sick fuck has to have a decent amount of them.

And fwiw the most we see at one time is 12 + the Night King. Who, I'm just gonna say, is different from the others. He's special.

I guess I should also just allow that maybe the baby white walkers grow up exponentially fast too. I mean...why not? It doesn't have to be logical if it's magical, I guess.

So we have to assume that, at some point, humans either made peace with the walkers or assumed they were dead. There were probably terms to this agreement.

So either the humans violated the terms or the white walkers just stopped caring. Presumably it was the humans at fault, because obviously that makes for a more interesting story with possibilities for real-life connections.

I just can't for the life of me figure out what the pact was.

Well I just don't think the show is gonna care about figuring it out either. Sadly.

Yeah I threw it on tonight to kill some time until 9:00 and it's hilarious how he just runs perfectly straight. Dude, just wait until he shoots the arrow and then just run in a random direction.

It's strange because, from a tactical standpoint, this battle is fucking stupid. But from a visual perspective, they did an amazing job with it, and I love how visceral it is when the horse charges meet each other. Feels like what it might actually have been like to be in the middle of two cavalry charges.

But man...Ramsay abandoned an impregnable castle and Jon just fucked up right and left.

Yeah, but that was the point. Ramsay knew Jon would do that. Meanwhile, Ramsay’s own arrogance was his downfall. He knew he would crush Jon in the open field and would have. Doesn’t give a shit if it cost him some men.

That said the battles are overall hilariously bad tactically, I do agree. Not sure if it’s just the show or if the book was the same way, I forget.

Rumor is the trailer is supposed to drop real soon. Like in an hour.

We shall see.

And its here.

Guy called it to the exact minute.

Trailer dropped, you've all seen it already, final battle is going to be a new highmark for TV I presume.

Like, fuck. I can't wait.

The Battle for Winterfell might end up being the greatest entertainment production in human history. I got chills from the damn trailer and just seeing Brienne, Jorah, and Podrick lined up and ready to go against the wights.

I think Jaime is going to be awesome this season too. Fuck, I’m amped.

Almost assuredly those crazy aerial shots of the dragons has to be Daenerys teaching Jon how to ride, only they removed the actors to not spoil it in the trailer.

Was that Jaime on a Greyjoy ship?

Edit: Never mind, it was the Golden Company with some commander who apparently looks just like Jaime from behind.

Agreed on all fronts.

I can't wait to see how this ends. It'd take something crazy to fuck it up, but it's gonna take a huge effort to make it legendary like it should be, too. I'm not ashamed to say I wouldn't at all be disappointed if everyone died and it ended with the White Walkers winning and the last shot being eerily reminiscent of Dany's Throne Room vision from Season 2. Depressing, but damn. Only if it made sense though. We still know virtually nothing about the Night King or White Walkers motives.

I suppose that ending might cheapen the overall story too, but still.

Here's hoping Arya is running from Jaqen in that opening scene. A man can dream.

That trailer was insanely good. Almost done with season 5 on our rewatch, and now I can hardly wait for this new season to start. Good lord.

Gotta be one of the best trailers I've ever seen. Jesus.

Guessing there's still a final trailer coming
