The significant fact that you guys are willingly ignoring, apparently, is that the difference this year is that we have options. Last year we didn't. We were forced to put Delonte on Turk. Assists, and more hockey assists.

First and foremost, nobody is ignoring the fact that Cleveland has more options this year. All the Magic fans on here have actually said that Hedo being gone is moot, because those added options that u guys have... It's actually the Cavs fans who seem to think that Hedo would still be effective against those guys... Most Magic fans appreciated Hedo, but are more comfortable with the idea Vince.

As for the 2nd point, why were you forced to put Delonte on Turk? Why couldn't Lebron guard Turk?? Sounds like a poor defensive scheme, moreso than anything else. You guys created that mismatch for yourself, as it's not like Bron was in foul trouble @ any point in time.... JMO

Ok, your saying we shot ourselves in the foot with LeBron's defensive assignment. So, we don't make a mistake like that again, get a big guy to guard Howard 1 on 1, and that's all the difference we need right? Or did you improve THAT much more than we did?

Look, i'm just saying that it was a combination of things not just Hedo. Cavs fans and the national media seem to want to peg the results on one thing. Hedo. Hedo made millions off of that false perception, which Magic fans were trying to temper all summer.

Like i said back when I 1st came on here tho, we just have to wait & see. Clearly you guys dont respect VC's game, so we'll see how that turns out. I hope VC takes it personally, as he's still capable of being a high caliber player imo. There are just way too many variables on the table tho to just peg the Magics success last year on just one thing. Both teams made adjustments, and will need to continue making adjustments throughout the series.

It will come down to coaching, execution, shot making, and a number of other things(Hedo gone, probably being of least most importance). Each series is like a new season, so what you did last year or 2 years ago means nothing. I think we're just gonna have to wait.

^ good answer. If Butters doesn't thank your last two posts, he should be banned. :)

You're right that there are too many variables to reliably predict. If all those equal out, I know BIG if, I think our improvements outway yours easily. We'll see. It's gonna be fucking great to watch.

This is getting a little frustrating. Are you purposely not answering our questions? I'm not asking if Orlando is a better team than the Cavs. I'm asking, HOW are they going to win 4 out of 7 games vs the Cavs? Two different things. Most people, outside of Cavs fans, still thought the Cavs were a better team even after the ECF. The playoffs are all about matchups when teams are so even from an overall talent standpoint. We think the matchup problem from last year is gone, and we also think we have more talent. You have a freak, a 3pt system designed off that freak, and Wince.

I guess you're just hoping the Shaq gets in foul trouble every game and your shooters hit 45% from three with a hand in their face. Even if you can keep LeBron out of the paint, we still have weapons. Another improvement from last year.

I haven't watched the Cavs enough this year to give you a serious answer... the only two games that were even close to what we'll probably see in the playoffs teams went 1-1... however the win you guys had at home you were without Mo.

I think Jameer will be a huge factor in the series. I also think our bench will come out strong (for the few minutes of play). As far as Wince, we'll see what player he'll be during the first two rounds. During these last few stretches of games, he has been playing very well, and he has been very aggressive. If he continues to do that, it will come down to game 7 and who hits their shots, and who knows? maybe even a one possession game.

The only thing I really want out of the series is to let Howard and Shaq play physical and not make calls on every little contact.

As for the 2nd point, why were you forced to put Delonte on Turk? Why couldn't Lebron guard Turk??

We were using him as the help defender off of Alston to double team Howard since Z couldn't guard him because we didn't think Alston would be able to punish us enough. Unfortunately the size disadvantages of our backcourt was our undoing. Too often we ended up with Mo or Delonte running out at a 6-10 Rashard Lewis, which didn't phase him at all. And then when we did put Lebron on Hedo, Rashard would go off, so we'd put him on Rashard and Hedo would go off. All the while Howard would be going 1 on 1.

The whole thing was a clusterfuck brought about because our lack of versatility, height, and athleticism. All things we addressed this year.

If we beat the Magic this year it will be because Shaq can guard Howard one on one, and Rashard Lewis can't cancel out Jamison.

there is a good video on truehoop here

two things i noticed, 1 if the cavs meet the magic they mush force howard to use his left hand, 2 the cavs must resist the temptation to double howard as much as possible, thats where everything orlando does stems from

Little tid-bit from O-Sen and Mike Bianchi on the Magic in the playoffs.

With that in mind, here's the saner, more realistic BCS (Bianchi Charting Strategy) ranking system for Magic playoff success:

Getting ousted in the first round: Massive failure (fans go berserk, city cuts its losses and stops construction on the new arena, team management panics and brings back Brian Hill for third coaching stint.)

Getting ousted in second round: Major failure (instead of a Stan Van Gundy makeover game, OrlandoSentinel.com runs Stan Van Gundy dartboard game).

Getting ousted by Cavs in conference finals: Good season, major disappointment (but fans ultimately come to the realization they'd rather live in Orlando without a championship than live in Cleveland with one.).

Getting ousted in the NBA finals: Great season, minor disappointment (there's always next year in the new arena!)

Winning championship: Fantabulous season (Van Gundy succeeds Buddy Dyer as mayor, "In Otis We Trust" is officially added to all city government letterhead and President Obama invites team to visit the "Dwight House.")

EXACTLY

So we can stop the whole Hedo argument, because even if we had him you'd have been able to lock him down with Lebron. Hedo sucked/sucks dick against any athletic wing defenders with a little length. Lebron could've kept Hedo in the red THE ENTIRE SERIES if your moronic coach would have put him on him.

And also, a lot of people think Dwight's left hand is his worst... just plain wrong. He's much better with his left than his right. His right is actually pretty terrible in comparison.

And if we do lose in the ECF to you guys, the season will not be a failure, but it will be a disappointment, like Bianchi states.

Little tid-bit from O-Sen and Mike Bianchi on the Magic in the playoffs.

Really? I'm really freaking tired of Mike Bianchi and the Orlando Trash-enial. The guy needs someone to walk up to give him 'five across the eyes'. I'd volunteer Brian Windhorst to do it, but I don't think he'd stoop to that level.

Dont worry, even Floridians know The Slantinal is a POS newspaper. Bianchi is Terrible.
