Professors actually make pretty good money, especially ones with money.

7 cats and a Subaru money.

They do ok, remember what i do for a living, they make about 80-100k a year if tenured.

The more prominent ones can write a textbook and force the students to by that which can add 50k or so.

Unless you are in admin you are not making 200k which is Pharm rep money. But yes 80k is more than most realtors net in a year. (realtors forget their is a cost to do their job, i so hate realtors)

Spring break will be taking her girlfriends to her parents house on The Strand in Hermosa Beach. Her dad will give her a Range Rover after she graduates and make her VP of Paper Clips at his company. She'll be fine.

Most of my profs made less than I make now as a second year public school teacher. I think you have to be a doctorate with corporate experience in whatever you're teaching to get up there in salary.

I just started doing realty on the side supposedly "for fun". Everyone hates them. I hate them.

A lot of them hate you too though.

Everyone hates everyone in homebuying it seems.

The issue is the amount of incompetence in the process. 5-10% of the loan officers are worth a damn, the rest send out a prequal like its nothing. Buyers are liars, and that is just the truth, they think its easy to get a house today, and if my 5-10% seems harsh on loan officers, less than 5% of the realtors have any business doing their job.

So yeah, the whole system sucks and the consumer is just as bad as anyone with their constant need to over buy or not realizing you have to pay your bills on time to get a mortgage.

My wife is an attorney and they represent sellers only. They fucking hate realtors. They say the same thing. These people are morons.

When you get a good realtor working with its even worse because it pisses you off about your previous 10 purchases with two idiot realtors on the transaction.

But i do respect some realtors I work with, but its almost impossible to have a transaction with 2 competent realtors. They just dont know shit about home buying which is sad considering what they do for a living.

I was laughing because you said you so hated realtors...and Jigo is a realtor...i hate him too.

I also do what @Lee does for a living, just commercially. And people hate us too.

People hate me from all over the place.

That said, in fields where you're competing with idiots it's easy to stand out.

You are a commercial lender? That is a tough gig for sure. Not sure they think commercial lenders are idiots, the whole transaction is over the top complicated to in the end sell your soul to a commercial lender. Much more difficult terms than residential than those that dont know. For example, a commercial appraisal can cost 10k+ plus alone and has to be paid up front before you even know if your getting the loan.

Crazy business. How did you get into commercial side of lending?
