The Trump Administration (just Trump) Thread

If Trump shoots someone in the middle of the street it would probably be for a good reason. Sounds like a good Mark Walbergh movie. I won't discuss the other poll because I'm sure it's just as bogus as the first. PPP are poll herders.

I can't figure out how Trump gained this much trust. It is mind boggling he hasn't done anything except beat the most unpopular Democrat in years. Where is all this political capital coming from?

You don't think there's any people who were indifferent about Trump that ultimately voted for Clinton, Stein, or Johnson?

I guess I'm just trying to understand this secondary category you've put out there of people who are "indifferent," because, if I remove that from your argument, I'm left with the following:

"trump supporters .. have a more reasonable view."

And I'm trying to understand this aspect.. How do Trump supporters have a more "reasonable view" than non-Trump supporters?
The poll is a click bait title like question. It makes you paint this picture of Trump running down the street with a gun shooting people. When you do stop and think about it, any president that is shooting someone is most likely because they are in danger or someone else is.

Non-Trump supporters have been subject to brainwashing from the MSM that he is this monster. Them comparing him to Hitler is a good example.

That wasn't the question. Yeah I would support him shooting a terrorist with a bomb vest on. This is just going out to the street and executing a random person. That is how Trump framed it originally anyway.

"I could go out on fifth avenue and shoot someone and they would still support me" doesn't imply he just did a service to the nation, but that he killed a random person and his people still supported him. Like why wouldn't they support you if you killed a bad guy?

So, just so that we're clear, non-Trump supporters are brainwashed? That's your argument...?

The very large segment of the population (Trump supporters) who, no matter what, will always love him; even if he shot someone, even if he was a traitor --- nothing matters to these folks except Trump and the shit that he promotes..

That's how you took it personally. Trump supporters take it differently.

I guess brainwashed is a little harsh. People that don't stay woke would be a better phrase.

If you attempt to engage in a serious conversation with Huber, you're doing it wrong

Ok so you flip it and say ok he meant that he was going to shoot a bad guy. Why would he potentially lose support??

It makes no sense. So you are saying Trump supporters took it in a way that doesn't make sense? Please explain it to me.

Now if you are saying that after the fact, they dig some dirt up on that random person like they were late on rent and trophy supporters would change the narrative that Trump stands up for Landlords, I could buy that.

How could killing a bad guy lose supporters?

What a ridiculous discussion...it's Friday...its summer...turn off your computers. :toast:

I'm not actually trying to have a completely serious conversation since that's impossible on this board with most users, Huber notwithstanding.

I'm simply pointing out the absolutely astounding nature of Trump's support base, and how this new polling shows many of these people truly do live in an "alternative facts," post-truth/post-values reality of their own; to which, the President being a traitor and a murderer is totally okay...

I honestly think that's quite dangerous for the country; regardless of which party controls the White House.

I mean, it's almost like we've forgotten that this shit is not normal.

Bad guys get shot all the time and people twist it to being negative. We have a whole thread on that topic.

Totally. This is absolutely stupid in terms of a hypothetical, but the results are chilling. Trump supporters fill-in positive motives for the bad things Trump does automatically. "If he colluded, he must have had a good reason.". Or "no matter what he does, nothing he could do would be worse than if Hilary was president "

That is scary
