The Trump Administration (just Trump) Thread

I get your point, but I think the writer is clearly trying to draw a line in the sand between "old guard" Republicans, and those challenging them. My guess is the article is directed at every race where Steve Bannon and his financial backers are trying to get new blood into Washington by picking off Reoublicans who have opposed Trumps agenda. Bannon leaving the administration was very strategic....he's more important outside of the White House because of the way he will shake up these races.

I read above article as essentially a guy saying "protect the establishment"....which is a tough ask considering Congressional approval ratings are even lower than the Presidents. He's walking a tight rope of saying we need the "lifers" to remain inside to protect the country, while the country itself is fed up with elected officials that can't get anything done.

That was my take anyways.....

That all makes sense, except...what does "protect the establishment" actually mean? If he's just talking about supporting establishment Republicans in Congressional elections, why not just say that?

It is curious people are saying he's a liar in one thread and taking him at his word which is clearly open for interpretation at best in another

Probably the best NBA coach of all time, Gregg Popovich chimed in on Trump today:

"I’ve been amazed and disappointed by so much of what this President had said, and his approach to running this country, which seems to be one of just a never ending divisiveness. But his comments today about those who have lost loved ones in times of war and his lies that previous presidents Obama and Bush never contacted their families, is so beyond the pale, I almost don’t have the words.

This man in the Oval Office is a soulless coward who thinks that he can only become large by belittling others. This has of course been a common practice of his, but to do it in this manner–and to lie about how previous Presidents responded to the deaths of soldiers–is as low as it gets. We have a pathological liar in the White House: unfit intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically to hold this office and the whole world knows it, especially those around him every day. The people who work with this President should be ashamed because they know it better than anyone just how unfit he is, and yet they choose to do nothing about it. This is their shame most of all.”

Wow. Strong words from a wise man.

I love this photo of Gregg Popovich having lunch with a rapist.

Yeah, he is probably an idiot. Especially considering he he went to the Air Force academy and had intelligence training. We should probably listen to Joe the Plummer instead.

Plumbers make good money and fulfill a needed service. Why belittle them and imply that they can't be intelligent?

Bcz joe the Plumber was a fucking idiot and he wasn’t even a plumber. I never said all plumbers were idiots.

Joe the Plumber claimed Obama would raise his taxes, when he actually lowered them. Obama raised taxes on those making over $400K, and Joe the unlicensed plumbing apprentice made about $40K a year but said “one day” he hoped to own his own business and make that much. He was an idiot. Votinh against his own interests like majority of the GOP base. And again, he wasn’t a Plumber. He was an actual idiot.

What makes his opinion, or anyone's really, any less valuable than that of a basketball coach?

Bob Knight was one of the greatest basketball coaches ever and he campaigned for Trump. Why is Popovich's opinion more important than his? Both are all-time great basketball coaches.
