Lots of tip toeing around....

Anyway, I am so glad that our President, Donald J. Trump, continues to bravely engage the family of a fallen Soldier, now zeroing on the widow herself. He has the courage to ignore the pleas of virtually everyone to now triple and quadruple down on lies and to ask GEN Kelly to sacrifice his own reputation for the sake of brave executive decisions.

Truly, this manufactured crisis, created by the mean, nasty MSM who dared to use his own words against him, is our President, Donald J. Trump's, personal Vietnam II.

McCoy was no fucking square tho.. look at his get up and beard.... holy shit. :chuckle:

I like to think that after he retired for the first time, Bones was doing a lot of boning and joined some sort of intergalactic swingers club that allowed one to partake in the delights of exotic, alien strange from Aldebaran to Zakdorn.

Or that he became a skeezy Gyno on Orion.

Maybe it's me, but I find it absolutely interesting that Paul Manafort was tied to Tony Podesta in their interaction with pro-Established Russian gov't and it's now part of the investigation.....

Sorry, but it was the widow who chose to make the condolence call a public issue by going on GMA to take a shot at the President.

Evidently, her politics outweighed her grief.

You're right.

It's the widows fault for trying to speak for herself.

Her feelings should take a backseat to trying to cover for Trump's unceasing lying.

Who else's fault is it that she chose to go on GMA to try to score political points out of a condolence call?

It was her family, and the member of Congress they put on the phone, who decided to make this a political issue in the first place. So, while I'd prefer Trump just ignore them, I think they've got zero grounds to whine about Trump responding to their politicization of the call.

It's a pretty skeezy thing for GMA to do, but I'm not surprised. A good chunk of the country has decided to politicize every aspect of life, drawing a good/evil line between those who hate the President, and those who don't. So, it's now down to condolence calls as the latest avenue to try to score points against him.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with the draft talk earlier. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful. I'm just kind of a chicken shit, and my Tourette's would probably be a liability in combat. I would be willing to help in a wartime situation in a non-combat role though.

She had the nerve to think Trump would remember her dead husbands name in a phone call about her dead husband?

The nerve of some people man...sigh

Yeah, its the family's fault. Their complaints have occurred in a vacuum. The entire country should turn their anger toward them.

Trump totally didn't start this at all. It isn't as if bragging about how good at condoling he is, and falsely accusing Obama and Bush of not getting in touch with Gold Star families didn't start this mess.

Remarkable.

Getting hot in the John Kelly kitchen.

Col. Huckabee Sanders now admits he lied, but it’s what he “felt” at the time. How is anything he says credible now? Spoiler: It’s not. Can’t wait to see the mental gymnastics now. It’s going to be more delusional than the guys who thought the Browns would win 7-9 games...

Honorable men like Kelly and human ingrown taint hairs like Trump don't mix well.

There was always one ending for that pairing. A good man can only be forced to do shitty things for so long.

What's amazing to me is that this really should be "easy" for Trump to navigate this. "This man was an American hero and we offer our prayers to for his family". Done

Even if you 100% believe the family is trying to politicize this (I don't), it should take Trump all of 5 seconds to realize that he should just take the high road. He gains nothing here by his handling of this.

I was never the biggest fan of W, but compare his response to Cindy Sheehan to Trump.

It's just baffling how a President would be clueless enough to give this sort of response.

The President is not the one who brought up the contents of the condolence calls. That was the family and that congresswoman.

But I would agree the family complaints were not brought up in a vacuum. They were brought up in an environment where trying to negate the results of the election has become a crusade for far too many. The family just hopped on that bandwagon.

LOL

Trump started this shit when he decided to take pot shots at former presidents for their lack of condolence calls (that was a lie by the way). So the press decided to check his claims and now it's become a whole mess because the dude couldn't just do a tough job and be quiet. Oh, and while I agree that he has the right to respond to criticism (even though a president SHOULD take the high road here), his responses have been lies to smear the grieving family and the congresswoman.

While I have you, how do you feel about Trump's delay on enforcing the Russian sanctions? I don't know a lot about the situation yet, just curious if you had a take.

You shouldn't have to apologize. I would be a conscientious objector in most draft scenarios, as I'm anti-war and also something of a chicken shit. It's not offensive to be afraid of dying in the horrors of war against your will. That would only be an issue if you were otherwise pro-draft IMO.

EDIT: UPDATE: Trump paid that grieving father the $25,000! Good! The check was dated the same day as the Post report about him not paying up but let's be positive for a moment.

Is it chicken shit to not want to fight and potentially die in a war?
