I decided to do a chronological playthrough of the Metal Gear series, with some exceptions. Won't be playing Metal Gear or Metal Gear 2 as they're just too damn old. Metal Gear Solid I can't play either, though I would if it was on XB1, 360, or PS3. And won't play Revengeance because it looks like ass. The games I don't play I'll just read/watch the story.
(Sidenote: They should really do a remaster of the Metal Gear series. Would be awesome to make some of the older games actually playable in 2019).
Anyway. I beat MGS3 and Peace Walker and am back on Phantom Pain now (played a few missions like a year ago without having ever played a MGS game). I understand why this game is so polarizing. The gameplay is great, but it's a completely different style of game. And it takes fucking forever to just do one mission. Between the motherbase, the helicopter, etc it feels like a godddamn chore at times. It's just annoying that it often takes an hour to go through a mission. I mean I could just run in guns blazing everytime to make it faster, but I don't really want to play the game that way. I also don't want to spend an hour on every mission...
I did get the Ground Zeroes unlocks, so I'm playing as Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid, which is pretty cool.
