Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yes, picked 23rd in the 2016 draft, might have been as high lottery this draft.

The Kyrie trade if Kyrie didnt want traded was almost to good to pass up. The best asset is yet to be used, but Zizic, crowder, and IT alone is a huge haul.

It's certainly looking that way. I am very curious to see how much kyries weaknesses which we have gone over in detail, might have been holding this team back. Defense is number one to me, but this deep wing rotation is really exciting

I could be wrong but I thought Kyrie stayed pretty healthy last year. If he get hurt as he used to, this was a great trade. As for Zizic, I thought Golden State just killed us on the boards, he might be of help.

What I like about Zizic from what I’ve seen (admittedly small sample) is he has good hands and doesn’t panic when he gets the ball in traffic. He shows nice footwork and is very poised finishing around the cup.

Will be fun to see in the preseason games how good his defensive awareness is. If he can show instincts there Lue might give him some burn as we could REALLY use his rebounding and size.

I don't think Kyrie looked himself in the playoffs. Definitely didn't have a 2016 impact. maybe he was already mentally checked out. Glad we got some super hungry guys instead honestly.

it won't turn out ugly for the Celtics, Kyrie is a sure thing and only 25 years old. Unless he gets injured he's a perennial all-star / top 20 player / 2nd best player on a championship team type talent, you don't lose with that. But we can hope it turns out to be an even or better trade for us.
If Bron signs a 5 year super max deal and Kyrie never beats us then I’d count that as a huge loss for them

For them to win the trade they have to make finals within the next 5 years

I feel like he can eventually hit the corner three as well.

Figured it out. What you're talking about actually happened in 2002-2003: Parkers 2nd year in SAS, Claxton's only year in SAS, and the Spurs 2nd Championship.

After averaging 40+ MPG in games 1-3, Paker saw a drop off in his games 4-6 minutes to 31, 33, and 24 minutes. None of his was due to foul trouble. Claxton, after playing a combined 20 minutes total in games 1-3, played 17, 15, and 23 in games 4-6, including some heavy crunch time minutes.

What both of us didn't realize was that Speedy wasn't a vet. Although he was older than Parker, it was also just his second year in the NBA. He was just playing steadier and less recklessly than Parker and Pop went with it.

Good gut call. Sort of like Lue playing Dahntay Jones 5 minutes in game 6 at home in 2016, in which he scored 5 points and drew two fouls on Draymond.

Thank you for the clarification. That's what I get for not doing the research.

Ante's solid looking stroke, and Ty's pure gut feeling.

Ante's solid stroke definitely gets Ty's pure gut feeling going.

But really...he flashed a nice 15-18 footer in the scrimmage that he took with no hesitation from the baseline, and for his career overseas shot around 75% from the FT line. Usually a sign of a workable jump shot that can be extended out over time.

He's gonna work well with Wade. Really well.

A little worried there arent any defensive high lights

I thought he looked very good defensively in the scrimmage. He is more of a rule of verticality than shot blocker though. I prefer that, I think you get more calls unless you are #1 or #2 shotblocker in the league. His feet are pretty good I think.

Verticality is so much more effective than blocking shots. Some of the top shot-blockers in the league actually have a pretty poor DFG% making their blocks completely meaningless. They just go for a block on every single shot, get easily faked out, and even if they make the opponent miss, they're caught out of position and can't even grab those defensive rebounds. This exact thing used to be the case with Whiteside, but in the last year he's learned to play smarter (hence his shot-blocking has gone down), but his overall rim protection is far superior now.

This guy is going to be good.

All I want for him now is:

---> Develop a 3-pointer over time
---> Get on an NBA strength program

This guy has serious ability and a great feel for the game. He is a superb screener and roller.

He is going to THRIVE playing with LeBron, Wade and DRose. All of whom will find him on rolls.

Thrive.
