Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just needs 1 decent PnR player. We put zero passers and shooters around him. No one can pass him the ball and there is no spacing as well, so obviously that makes you more prone to mistakes...so why do you pull a player out after 3 minutes and never bring him back in the game because of it? We are rebuilding...there has to be some common sense here and more leeway(certainly when it isn't applied to several others). It makes no sense.
This 100%.

Zizic wasn't really good when he entered the game, but ffs if we wanna develop him he has to play and learn from those mistakes. He's practically a rookie.
Don't kill his spirit by pulling him after 3 minutes.

And especially when we lead by 20 the entire game, Drew couldn't find like 5-6 more minutes for Z?

If you punish him so soon, he will just be even more indecisive and scared the next time. This is not the way.

Exactly right and it's not like we have anything to lose. We have vets jacking up some horrible shots and making plenty of mistakes but they seem to be getting the benefit of the doubt...shouldn't it be the other way around and Z be allowed to make mistakes and experiment with his limits on the court?

We are a shitty rebuilding side but are currently not willing to live with growing pains of one of our only young talents.

Yes, JR is good for at least one just clowning around turnover every game.

Zizic has never looked like a turnover machine before so it's pretty clear it is how he is being used. Benching him last night = poor coaching.

They were giving him the ball at the elbow alone. Why ?

They Rode TT last night because he was destroying their bigs which was fine. I thin that quick yank was probably a little knee jerk considering some of the passes to Ziziz were just plain awful. Makes you wish Cedi was around. He is more used to getting the ball to a big guy. Hell he made Semi Erden look good this Summer.

Looked like he battled. That is a tough matchup. He still needs to get in better condition.

He looks weaker to me? looks like he put an emhasize on getting slimmer so he could move better on D, though i'm not sure I totally like it. He has the frame to put on a lot of mass, so I'd like to see him be the strongest guy on the floor and dominate in that area.

I do think that if he had more touches in spots that other Cs usually get he would produce great numbers. Also, since we are clearly rebuilding/tanking, why is it so hard to get him some pick and pop mid range jumpers just to get him into rhythm since our ball handlers can't find him often in the PnR? he clearly has the form and the touch.

Finished the game well though.

How is this kid ever going to get comfortable on the court when he's pulled after a couple mistakes and rough play?
What are we getting out of this season if we don't develop our young players? This is a 20 win team,,,wins and losses don't matter.
When he gets in the flow, he gets better..no I doubt if he'll ever be a elite 5 but he's more than capable of holding down that spot..especially when you have some 7fters on the other team.
Help the kid develop a jump hook..and some up and under moves.

Use him.

I just don't understand how on a team that is loaded with inefficient scorers, the Cavs do not try to utilize an offensively gifted center. I don't even care about his defense right now. That is something that a lot of playing time/experience will tell the tale on.

The center position has always been one of the most efficient scoring wise because they are usually so close to the basket. Even a fumbling Thompson can have efficient scoring games here and there. In addition; if you can establish an offensive threat in there, it can open up some space for your other players. I'm all in on the tank but lord, he could help there scoring right now. Plus he is 21 one and could be one of your core pieces moving forward if developed right.

I am stuck with hoping the Cavs really think they might be able to move Thompson this year by playing him.
