"Things Like That Don't Happen Anymore In Cleveland"

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Last I checked,

1. Colt McCoy is out. So is Fugita.
2. Dolan won't spend a dime to help the Tribe.
3. The Cavs are starting a rebuild anyday now.

What can go wrong, will go wrong in Cleveland.

The people who don't get that haven't lived long enough yet. Don't worry, plenty of misery ahead.

It doesnt have to be like that though.

How long had it been before the Sox won the WS?
The Saints were dead in the water (no pun intended) a few years ago

Sports can turn at the drop of a hat. You have to believe that or whats the point.

So we should say fantastical and false things just for the sake of being positive...

What did I say that was false? It's more about looking at the positives as much, if not more than the negatives...that's all this city focuses on, the negatives.

To much fluff and not enough substance..

Last time I checked, The Browns are .364 in baseball that would be a 100+ losing season.. Basketball it would be 29 - 53 record AND they almost lost to the worst team in football and should have..

Indians have absolutely zero starting pitching and their defense is below average..

Cavs ,well they are also under .500 . Gilbert may be willing to spend money until he's green in the face but I don't see any big time talent coming here via FA
Jake Delhomme was a huge reason why that game was close, if McCoy played he would of managed the game smartly and not force those stupid throws Jake made.

I never said we control if the team wins or not...I said that we have a significant effect on the team. I was at Game 5 of the ALCS in Cleveland when the Indians had a chance to put the Red Sox away. Most cities would be be filled with confidence - up 3-1, ace on the hill, home crowd behind you. Yet the overwhelming feeling was "Oh God, we're going to screw this up". As soon as the Indians hit adversity in the game, they crumbled, and it piled up on them. The rest is history.

Make fun of my post if you want, you're certainly free to do so...I'd rather be an optimist and look at the good than be a pessimist that finds all the bad and runs with it.

Woah, the fans packed the place and area in Game 5. The fans did their best to get the team going. Problem was Beckett didn't, he was great that night. Wedge managed the game like he had 2 more on tap. CC had no business facing Youk. He blew the game right there.
Gave Beckett two more runs to seal the deal.

Casey Blake made sure to GIDP and provide the two base error the next half inning to give Boston the game and series.

The fans were great during that run. Nobody should ever blame the fans. Some of the best and most informed in the country.

Not sure where to put this (that's what he said) but is anyone else getting a fuckin kick out of hearing the Cardinals fans boo DA after the shit he said about Browns fans?

Boston has multiple titles in other sports. I do believe, just see how it is right now.
What can go wrong, will go wrong on Cleveland. Whomever breaks the curse will own this area.

You're right, he should have just said the Browns got lucky to win and still suck. Would that have been better?

That game is on Travis Hafner in my mind. The Tribe had Beckett on the ropes in the first inning. He couldnt find the plate and I think he already gave up a run. What does "Pronk" do when he gets up to the plate? Swings at the first pitch and hits into an inning ending doubleplay. I know one play doesnt change a game but that was huge imo.

I'm not saying the fans didn't support the team...just that they weren't confident in us winning that night.

LeBron played out of his mind in the Magic series, we lost truly because the supporting cast didn't step up in that series, how ever in the Boston series, Cavs did give LeBron enough pieces but he choked.

Our reserves did enough to win. Our Jordan or Kobe didn't, couldn't finish the deal.

Why he isn't in Cleveland.

Explain why thousands were outside trying to by tickets and waiting to tear the house down before the game. The atmosphere for Indians playoff games is a close 2nd to the Browns payoff games. The fans wanted that win.

Kenny Lofton was on the verge of being the King of Cleveland if they win that series. No way do they lose to Colorado. That was a great year.

Amazing where the Cavs and Indians sit today. No way did anyone think that was the peak for both teams.

I know you're being an Internet comedian with the "Dumb Thread" picture (and you are hilarrrrrious!), but it's a waste of time for the rest of us. How hard is it to comment if the thread interests you, and to not comment if it does not?

I want to clarify...I am not trying to make fun of you, like perhaps some people are.

I just don't believe pep rallies and optimistic speeches on message boards get us anywhere. Some people dig that stuff and it gets them fired up for a couple minutes and that is totally cool, I have no issue whatsoever with that...just injecting my thoughts.

Again, not saying they didn't want it...just that they weren't confident in winning it.

Um, seriously?

Why does he have to say ANYTHING about Cleveland sports' fortunes? Why can't he just say "Good win for the Browns today, they pulled it out in the end!!" or something like that? Good god.

No problem...to me it was more than a pep rally, but I can understand and respect your view on it as well, and I appreciate that you took the time to clarify that you weren't making fun. Thanks!
