I am about as interested in T-Mac as I am in David Wesley.
Parker already gives us 8 points a game and Delonte adds a few on top of that. If we can't be relying on him to make at least 15 points and do so efficiently (not jacking up a ton of shots), then there's no reason to waste all of our trading assets on him, because he's going to take all of our assets unless we S&T Wally for an ungodly amount. I doubt Gilbert wants to do that unless we know the player gets us a championship.
And for how we come up 20+mil in salaries... S&T Wally.
I might be wrong but I dont think we can sign wally for 20 million you can only sign players to a percentage of thier former contract. It is like 120% or something like that.
One source said teams including Portland, Miami and Cleveland were hoping that McGrady's tenure in Houston would end with a buyout, and he would be free to sign with the team of his choice provided he cleared waivers by March 1.
I had ignored this thread, since there is obviously no way the Cavs trade for T-Mac, but I just came across this bit by Chris Sheridan in ESPN's TrueHoop blog.

That's the ONLY circumstance that might land him in Cleveland, though even then I tend to doubt the Cavs have any interest. Who knows what the source is for this. Anyway, my guess is that, somehow, eventually Houston is able to move him. Just hope it's not to the Knicks for a package include Jeffries.
Actually, I could see a TMac buyout being the means for the Cavs to surpass all the other elite teams.
TMac's game has always been better fit as a 2nd fiddle. I've said that since the day he was drafted by Isiah.
The problem with Tmac is he's not cut out to be the premier scorer from the wing. A dominant post player in Yao doesn't help him. He really does need another wing that is better than he is.
LBJ next to TMac with both in their primes would be one of the most amazing things to ever happen on basketball court.
I'm praying for Houston to buy out Tmac, because I truly do believe that if you bring him in on the cheap, he'll buy into the team atmosphere, and finally realize his best spot, the #2 guy on the wing.
He's got the capabilities of being a #1 guy, but he's just not consistent enough to warrant that distinction. All along he should've been the #2 to Vinsanity, but of course, they clashed too often in Toronto for it to happen.
