Trade Deadline ––> Waiver/Buyout Deadline 2015 (March 1)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How is he a tweener? He certainly has legit PF size. His numbers aren't terrible per minute, though his efficiency hasn't ever been great. He certainly showed more skill in college than TT ever did. I think he's just a guy that hasn't ever gotten a fair shake (because of attitude?) with a decent chunk of skill. If he figures it out, he'll be solid.

For Philly, I think it was a no-brainer, young guy with potential at a low price that doesn't really cost them anything.

I'm done debating this over a player that doesn't move the needle. People consider Tristan a tweener and him and T Rob are the same size, though Tristan has a 2.5 inch advantage on his standing reach. And T Rob has shown less offensive skill in the NBA than Tristan has...even at the FT line...that's really saying something as to how bad he has looked so far.

TT might be considered a tad undersized, but certainly not a tweener, he's 100% PF. As is T-Rob. I agree that he hasn't moved the needle to this point in his career, but I still say big guys take time to develop. Also T-Rob had a 1.5" better no step vertical and 4" better vertical than Hassan Whiteside, which makes up for him being a tad undersized.

I don't think that claiming a player on waivers because you have cap space counts as a dick move. That's what teams with cap space have the right to do. It is what is is.

I'm not saying it's a smart move for Philadelphia.

They have to use 90% of their cap before a certain date, otherwise the entire amount of cap space leftover is distributed among the current players on the roster. Makes sense to add players off waivers.

Okay, then maybe that is a dick move. :chuckle:

Robinson should be fine with it.

There are tons of minutes available and no Type A personality "he's the man who gets the shots" types on Philly.

In two more months, he's a free agent and can control his destiny picking between whatever teams actually want him or offer him an NBA contract.

Interestingly, now that Philly has satisfied this 90% cap floor technicality, they can actually release him between now and March 1st and he could still be eligible to sign with another team and play in the playoffs.

So if Philly were to release him on March 2nd, then that would be the ultimate dick move.

Cavs have full 15-man roster after Kendrick Perkins signing. That now puts Cavs at $4.72 million over tax line for tax bill of $7.08 million

Thanks CavsDan. Keep writing those checks and get ready to dip in even heavier next year.

Edit: For comparison, especially if any rival fans start complaining, the Cavs are at app. 82 million in total team salary for this season. Brooklyn and LAC have higher team salaries than us and OKC, Toronto, New York, and New Orleans are all at 80 million+

Next year, Golden State will rise up to 90+ million if they match a large offer for Draymond Green without jettisoning Bogut, Lee, or Iggy.

For those curious, Larry Sanders on why he walked away from basketball.

Credit to him for coming out and talking about his issues. Mental health issues are fucked up. I deal with three really shitty fucking situations/disorders and they can really destroy you. I hated my last job and my issues fucking dipped into it and made it worse, so I can understand them killing him inside while doing something (basketball) he may not love 100%.

Messed up shit. Hope he finds the right balance.
