If the Cavs don't re-sign Deng (and as of today it seems likely they will not), and of course if LeBron doesn't return, the Cavs will have to sign a SF this off-season or trade for one. They will also have the opportunity to draft one, but unless they are able to draft Wiggins or Parker, whoever they draft won't be starting for them. Regardless of whether David Griffin or someone else is the GM, they will have to deal with the SF situation.
Here are some potential SF trade targets this off-season.
Martell Webster -- If Wizards invest big money in re-signing Ariza (and Ernie Grunfeld has a long history of overpaying his own free agents, assuming Grunfeld is brought back), they may wish to move Webster -- maybe Jarrett Jack would be attractive to them?
Chase Budinger -- Has been hurt much of the last couple of years, and when he has played hasn't been very good for Minny. A Jack-Budinger trade works, and at least Budinger's contract is one year shorter.
Jared Dudley -- Not really sure why, but he hasn't worked out too well for the Clippers.
Matt Barnes -- Cavs tried to sign him back in 2010. Possibly somewhat redundant with Clips.
Reggie Bullock -- Another Clipper wing, which tells me they are going to try to trade at least one of these guys. Cavs rumored to be interested in him this trade deadline.
Quincy Pondexter -- Re-signed to a cap friendly 4 year contract in 2013, but then promptly got hurt with a stress fracture. Maybe Memphis decides to move in a different direction. May be closer to a SG than a SF though.
Carlos Delfino -- Has been hurt all year for Milwaukee. (Great signing by them, by the way.) Just making sure no stone is left unturned!
Moe Harkless -- Under contract for one more year with Orlando, and I just can't believe Magic will give him away. Maybe you could get him as part of a larger trade, but hard to imagine what that might be. This is an under the radar guy worth keeping an eye on for summer 2015, given how young he still is (20).
Jeremy Evans -- Intriguing talent who has never really played much for Utah. Can't shoot, but advanced stats have always liked him.
