Training Camp News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The most interesting part for me was during LeBron's interview when he discussed his work with JJ this summer. LeBron sees the untapped potential just like the rest of us and you can tell he wants to help expose it because JJ can be the perfect PF for this team.

I think JJ could potentially be a pleasant surprise for us this season.

:chuckles:mad:Shaq shittin on Dwight again

Gibson talkin got me excited for LeBron and the season:thumbup: Also Shaq said he heard that him and Z will play together at times which will be trouble for other teams to match up with which confirms some of that speculation.

This was the best LeBron interview yet since the start of camp. The other days he kind of seemed like he just rolled out of bed and wasn't too enthusiastic, but today, man he sounds ready to go and proud of his team!

GO CAVS!

I just dont see it for the season. I think he might have even a harder time getting minutes this year than last. This is an insanely deep team that is even deeper of powe comes back mid way through.

uhhhhhhhh ummmmmmm i havent really thought about it.

what exactly has mike brown thought about?

JJ will get some minutes. He'll get extended minutes in games where Shaq needs to rest too. I don't think he is a guy who will be on the floor too much, but I am hoping that he finds a spot in the rotation with good minutes by February/ March.

The Lebron interview, notably his comments on JJ Hickson, make me proud of them both. As you know, this is exactly what I was eluding to earlier this offseason when I made it known that JJ needed to step up and seize what is there in front of him.

He took my words to heart, and with Lebron's willing assistance DID take strides this offseason, even when dealing with restrictions, he refused to concede to limitations and worked to improve his game ....which is noticeable at this point.

JJ is unique in that he can be a PF, and with development can build his game and become a hybrid type of small forward as well. His need to build his game up and devote the time to developing physically, mentally, and technically.

He's showing development in all areas so far, which is vital. With no restrictions next summer I expect to see even more. Great to see a player like Lebron willing to have him along... Mo joined them in SanDiego as well and he told me then that JJ looked like a different player..

Also Shaq showed a lot of encouraging words for JJ too.

They didn't really show any highlights for LeBron in that scrimmage but people said that he posted up alot so that is a good sign. I don't know how effective that was for him because nobody ever said that but maybe LeBron working out with JJ not only helped JJ, but got LeBron to practice posting up. Which helps both of there offensive post moves and defensive low post D.

This might be true obviously, but its hard to say with his talent. It seems from what people are saying that he could become something very special, and maybe he'll end up playing a lot more this year than any of us think, and for good reasons.

Mo, Lebron, and Shaq seemed impressed, and invested in him. I think talent must attract talent. I won't discount anything from this kid, if what these guys are saying is true. Hopefully, I'm right, and he starts to show something special this year.

I typically take everything you say to be pretty spot on, I hope this lives up to my expectations...

For some reason I have not seen in JJ what most seem to see and for me, it goes beyond his youth being the reason. I wish I could put a better definition as to why I don't have the same expectations for him without making it sound like it isn't youth factors. Don't kill me for this, but the best I can come up with is almost a Drew factor? I sure hope not to that degree, but he just seems so lost sometimes and many of the times are in situations that he should excel in. I also have some of a concern about something physically that he does, he seems to have to crouch or something before he leaves his feet, and on both sides of the ball. His quickness seems to make up for it defensively, but offensively I think it hurts him by having to bring the ball down before making a move up and that's usually not a good thing. Maybe I'm nuts, but I swear I've seen that several times with him...

I know what you mean about the "gooden" factor. However, I hate to say it, but he was pretty young last year, 20 years old is a baby in this league. I am happy to say he seems more well spoken this year, and I think it could make a huge difference in his game. He doesn't seem so star struck, and nervous, which a lot of his bonehead plays came from last year. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I hope it's true, I think he will be a lot less Gooden like this year.
