Newt Gingrich is many unsavory things, but I wouldn’t call racist one of them. He’s seems very anti-bigotry.

He’s “racist” by the metric you would call Joe Biden racist...in that he generalizes and stereotypes minority groups from time to time. But he isn’t actively discriminatory and against those group’s advancement...hallmarks one would normally associate with racism.

"What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?" Gingrich asks. "That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior."

"The American people believe English should be the official language of the government. . . . We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto," Gingrich said

"It is time to know more about would-be terrorists, to profile for terrorists and to actively discriminate based on suspicious terrorist information."

He has an even longer history of anti-Semitism dating back decades, as well. This is simply not acceptable for someone looking to fill potentially the top Cabinet position.

The devil you know....

Hillary would have had a much harder time implementing her fucked up agenda. Trump has free reign.

Hard to say - if she'd had enough turnout to win, Democrats might have won more Congressional seats. One more Senate seat would have done the trick.

Also, the Court is huge. Adding a conservative basically restores the Court to where it was six months ago. But a liberal appointment would have flipped control to 5 solid left wing votes (not counting Kennedy, who is a swing).

That would have let her do a ton of executive action, and initiate policy by Court action. Not to mention the Second Amendment, Citizen's United, etc..

Most of those are ignorant racial and cultural statements, yes.
There are a lot of ignorant and misinformed people just like him in this country, as well.

But I'd hesitate to call them racist because of the historical stigma of that word, and I don't think those people would label themselves that either. He hasn't shown any indication that he is against minority groups in this country thriving in any way.

That's true, but as a noted white supremacist, @Maximus can't be looked upon as the standard.

We have a reality TV star as our President :banghead:

Who's next, a Kardashian? Kanye could be the First Man, or even Tristan!

We have more then that. We have a WWE Hall of Fame member as our new president. :chuckle:

Jeff Sessions
Newt Gingrich
Joe Arapiao

These are just the names being tossed around, given his surrogates from the campaign I'm certain there will be more.

More potential Cabinet names
Forrest Lucas - Interior secretary (founder of Lucas Oil)
Steven Mnuchin - Treasury Secretary (exec of Goldman Sachs)

Bob Corker - In late February 2010, Corker became the sole senator to back retiring Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky in filibustering a 30-day extension of expiring unemployment and COBRA benefits.

Sid Miller
Wilbur Ross
Victoria Lipnic

Trump has made clear the Education Department would play a reduced role in his administration — if it exists at all. He has suggested he may try to do away with it altogether.

Here's a plan:

It sucks, I just voted to get rid of him.

Ironically my biggest beef with Sheriff Joe was while Sheriff of my county he acted like he was the Secretary of Home land security.

Now it looks like he will get the job he always acted like he had.

My roommate is a special ed teacher, and already is severely lacking the necessary resources. I am mortified by the implications of this.

For me, as a private school teacher though

Serious: Where's all this fear about LGBT rights coming from?

It's the pure hate I am seeing. A lot of people did not like Obama, but did you see riots? Did you see people in the national media painting a doom and gloom narrative?

One candidate ran on doom and gloom. It wasn't Obama.

Why do we keep equating the two in an attempt to normalize a sociopath?

Also, Trump himself advocated not accepting the results if you lose. The people protesting against him are literally just following his advice.
