So I had to check into this office to do some paperwork stuff for my job down here in Florida, and at this guy's desk where I'm doing this I notice he has some Ohio State stuff. Being an Ohio State grad, of course I bring the Buckeyes up.
Turns out he's a very passionate Buckeye who goes up every fall to see games. He said he heard a rumor that Jim Tressel is ultimately going to resign. I called bullshit and said yeah right. But he insists that Ohio State hates getting negative press and to save face, Jim Tressel is going to end the nightmare by resigning. I said maybe Ohio State does not like the negative press, but how could they possibly replace Jim The Sweater Vest Tressel and his legacy and all of the success he's had? And he said it's easy, how about the man that beat him in the title game himself, Urban Meyer?
Urban Meyer has history with Ohio State. He's an Ohio native, grew up in Ashtabula, played at the University of Cincinnati, earned his masters at Ohio State, and began his coaching career there, too. It all seems like a perfect fit in a way in the rare event that Tressel does indeed resign.
Also, he has a buddy who was involved in the sale with Kirk Herbstreit's house in Upper Arlington and that the whole OSU fans are being too rowdy thing is nothing more than a cover up. He's moving because he's going through a divorce. Apparently he's cheated on his wife (surprise surprise) and has had an affair with none other than Erin Andrews herself (go Herbie). I guess Herbstreit's wife is trying to bring the whole situation to light, but Kirk is doing his best to keep it on the down low.
And to top it off, guess who has shown interest recently in purchasing Herbstreit's old house in Upper Arlington? Urban Meyer.
Seems pretty doubtful, just thought I'd share. A quick google search about Herbstreit does lead to rumblings about his divorce and an affair with Erin Andrews, and there are already rumors surfacing about Meyer eventually replacing Tressel. Who knows. Probably just more Buckeye fan banter pretending to be in the know.
