Locker and the Huskies are about to knock off USC.

This kinda doesn't help OSU....

Yep, it's over. GJ Washington.

It's over. Huskies with the upset.

All this means is that USC gets to beat another Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl.

Pretty embarrassing that the Buckeyes couldn't get it done after watching the Huskies do so...

Well, USC was missing it's starting QB (the backup was crap - if I was Carrol I would have put in Mustain in the 4th quarter) and Taylor Mays was injured and didn't play. While USC may have studs everywhere, their pass defense was not great in the 2nd half at least, and they had 2 freshman safeties. If USC put the same personnel on the field against OSU, OSU would have won as well.

Let me break it down for y'all ........

USC's first drive, we punched U Dub in the mouth. The offensive line easily pushed the front four off the ball.

When you have a QB that can't pass worth shit, i.e. Aaron Corp, you put 7 to 8 in the box and make him beat you. If this was Sanchez, no problem. Hell, if this was a healthy Barkley, no problem. Defense did their job and gave up 16 points.

Once they stacked the box, it was a done deal. Without a balanced mix of run and pass, your offense will fail unless it's a gimmicky type offense (wishbone). Plus throw in our coordinators from last year and other staff members went to U Dub. Corp would throw into triple coverage and really kill us. Also throw in our boys had a case of the dropsies with the turnovers.

Like I said before, the number four pre-season ranking for SC was too high and this will be a 3 or 4 loss year season. Next season and 2011 will be the seasons SC will truly dominate.

Props to U Dub though.

you don't deserve to win when you give up a third and 15 that late in the game. Defense can only carry you so far though.

Not really. If Barkley had played, SC would have dropped a 30 spot on U Dub because they would have had an accurate QB who can actually pass. A nice mix of run and pass.

SC was truly one-dimensional in this game.

250+ yards on the ground
110 yards in the air

translation: loss

I picked Cal to win the Pac-10 this year.

SC will lose to Cal on the road and Oregon on the road; and might lose to Notre Dame

It is rather confusing to me why Carrol stayed with Corp the entire game and never tried Mustain, because I least in the second half (I didn't watch the first half), it was obvious Corp wasn't going to get the job done. I figured Mustain would win the job over Barkley even, he was pretty damn good at Arkansas (8-0 as a starter) as a true freshman.

All week during practices, Corp took the majority of the first team reps. That's the only reason why I could see why he didn't go with Mustain. I definitely would have made the move though. Atleast in the beginning of the fourth quarter.

That's the best offensive line in the country, but when you run all the time, you're definitely handicapped. They should have went with Mustain at some point in the second half but I'm playing armchair QB.

rematch at the rose bowl! USC, and Ohio state are overrated. Both are in down years, but i'm estatic to see USC lose again.

you'll probably see Oregon or Cal; and y'all might not get by PSU

Oregon and Cal will blow at least another game. Cal starts out hot every year and then tanks in November. I doubt we get PSU but we'll see.

SC is already starting behind the eight ball. They'll hafta run the table just to get to the Rose Bowl. Oregon and Cal will probably lose one game in the conference.

Cal vs Oregon will be big next week.

Explain to me how, save 04 and 05, USC has lost a conference game to a team they were way better than since the start of 03. Only time a comparably talented P10 beat them was Oregon in 07.

Cal in 03, OSU and UCLA in 06, Stanford in 07, OSU last year, Washington this year. I know USC migth be a tad down, but UW was freaking winless last year. Sark must be the best coach ever.
