Villanueva and shaq would put us over the edge IMO. We would be athletic enough to guard against some of the things that hurt us last year. Quickness at the PF position for instance and a formidable body in the paint. This addresses most of our needs, but one thing is that i wouldn't do these deals without either part of the equation because Shaq and CV would balance each other out

This Sheed crap needs to stop. How the heck is bringing in a guy with MAYBE one good and one adequate year left going to help us keep a superstar.

Couldn't agree more, putting CV next to a defensive minded center with some toughness would be the best possible move. Especially one who operates mostly near the rim.

Shaq would work but it is so short term and who knows if a motivated shaq shows up. I hate to say this but Kaman is starting to look like the best option.

He is young and gifted. If he can just stay healthy... But maybe with a chance 4 a title he plays through some minor aches and pains. Plus Z would still be getting 20+ mins so it would limit his time on court.

Also with those 2, we have Z and anduy coming off the bench as a great combo of back up bigs!

If they choose to address our long term center issues now, then kaman or chandler are what appears to be the only options. If the figure cv is a good solution at pf with andy long term, and shaq gets them 2 of the next 3 titles, they can use future trade pieces and draft picks to try and get the center. Thing is, if we move up in the draft and select a wing and get cv, then we have added enough young pieces that trading for shaq makes sense. Its ok to add an older vet or two as long as you keep working on your young core.

Love Charlie next to Shaq = nice inside out tandem, with Z and Andy coming off the bench.... work in the 2 young guys. That's a real nice bigs rotation, and balances the O and D nicely. The days of LeBron scoring 80% + of the frontcourt points would be over.

They could play more 4 around 1 offense, with Shaq/Z inside with guys spotted up or cutting to the hoop for dishes. A talent like Charlie would open up so many nice things for us, and LeBron would only bump his game to ANOTHER level (see: Mo Williams, All Star).

Add a young wing player, maybe sign Anthony Parker, maybe snag Corey Brewer (long, athletic, McHale holdover) from Minny in a draft day trade... now we're cookin.

Charlie and LeBron go way back, and the more guys LeBron likes on the roster, the better.

Charlie for MLE, Sasha + something for Childress, and then either get Kaman or Chandler via Wallace's contract. Add in a Earl Clark/Sam Young/Gerald Henderson from the draft, and we'd have ourselves a stellar offseason.

I could also see us getting Shaq instead of Childress + Kaman/Chandler. Hopefully we'd get someone like Parker or Barnes (with the BAE) to add on to CV, Shaq, and a rookie.

It would be really nice if we could snag Charlie with the MLE. That would allow us to use Ben's contract and Sasha on a defensive minded Center. Maybe Ben/Sasha for Chandler/Posey? Or Ben for Kaman if we want to go a bit more offensive.

IMHO the best player to put next to James and CV in the FC is Chandler. Young, defensive "specialist", can score off of misses and has an adequate 5-8 foot jumper. I would be absolutely extatic if this happened.

The great big smooth hope is still alive. What is the status of Thomas's and Oberto's contract, both are partially gauranteed? how much do they owe on each? if they keep one of them, they are def. not resigning the big smooth.
