W Cleveland 105 Toronto 93

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Cleveland @ Toronto

They played pretty damn good when I was paying attention..

I think I'm gonna have to tell my girlfriend I can't talk to her during Cavs games or something.. I like talking to her but I end up forgetting about the game..

Re: Cleveland @ Toronto

Nice win. Nothing big since it was just toronto but i can say there is one positive i noticed. After the half larry didnt settle for jumpers. He did what he does best, slashs to the hoop, and get a foul or the layup.

Donyell played very solid, as did lebron as always.

7 of our next 10 are at home. Lets take advantage of it.

Re: Cleveland @ Toronto

One more thing. Did anyone else have the strange urge to say "WHO?" Whenever they said mike james?

Workmanlike win tonight.

Did LeBron only have the one dunk? (oop from D Jones)

Like Toronto's 3-point streak, we need a LeBron dunk streak. I wanted to end that streak of theirs.

Snow had a good game tonight.

Sasha has really fallen deep on the bench.

Sasha will get his chance. I believe Mike Brown will continue to shuffle Luke Jackson and Sasha Pavlovic in the next few weeks. He's smart, unlike Silas, who would shuffle players in games. He lets them play the full game as if they were the primary backup at that position. Then a couple games later, switch off the reigns to the other guy. Much better plan, IMO.

What impressed me tonight:
1. Damon Jones. He must have gotten railed by Mike Brown on how he lacks the ability to set up offense and only jack up shots. Kudos

2. LeBron James: Not settling for off balance 3's and jumpers. I saw a couple bad shots, but all in all, it didn't hurt the team that much.

3. Return of Donyell Marshall: He is our most important bench player. Endless hustle, great rebounding skill, example on defense, and trey after trey with no fear. 2/6 doesn't bother me as long as 6 are good shots. They'll sink.

4. 1/8 from three. Yeap, that's right. No ownage by Jalen "Cav Killer" Rose and Morris Peterson. Too bad we didn't bury their record. Our perimeter defense really stepped up tonight.

What I didn't like:

1. Eric Snow. Although he played alright D (I saw him get burned a couple times), his offense is horrendous. We need to get him the message: WE DON'T NEED YOU TO SCORE. WE DON'T NEED YOU TO HIT CRAZY SHOTS. All we want is a midrange jumper. A trey once in a while. Not an off-balance crazy shot. That's not your style. Please, get this in your head.

2. Chris Bosh explosion. 26/12 is impressive. The main culprit could be said to be Z: not stepping out to block the shot, yadda yadda yadda. But the true man at fault is Drew Gooden. He should have been the one to guard him. But it changed.
-Then again, now that I think about it, Z was even guarding Bosh, as his main assignment, and was just not up to par. Or par, for that matter. He let Bosh shoot open 18 footers, and watched him blow by for slams on other plays. Yea, yea, he has sore knees and shouldn't be expected to guard these guys. But lets face the facts, please. He was assigned to guard him, and he failed. That is the bottom line, no excuses.

3. Hughes: 5/13 from the field... so low. His jumper is just not landing. It might not have mattered today, but I want to see it start landing soon or we'll lose basketball games because of it.

All in all, good outing by the Cavs. Grabbed a good road win, I like that. But don't get too cocky. Our 2 wins came from the worst teams in the NBA. Seattle will be a good test on Wednesday.

Until then, GO CAVS!

Well I can't complain on Snow tonight.. He Didn't play great, but he didn't hurt us as well... That's all I ask of him... Just don't hurt us...

"Z" was much better in the 2nd half, but his post up game is still trash this season...

He's only scoring on 15 footers and tip-ins...I want to see be able to actually back someone down and get something a little better then a scoop shot.. The man is 7-3, one would think a little hook (NOT A SWOOPING SKY HOOK) could help..

Hughes's all aroung game is helping his cause since he's still cold from the field.. But he was never really a jump shooter anyways, and attacked the basket tonight which is his game...

I've seen Chris Bosh get into grooves where even Kevin Garnett couldn't guard him one-on-one. When Bosh is on his game, much like other young and talented big men such as Yao Ming or Pau Gasol, we simply aren't going to be able to stop it one bit. So it's expected guys of that calibur will put a hurting on us.

Groove or no groove. I'm not questioning the fact that Bosh is a good player. But I question the defense on him. I want our players contesting shots. Put a hand up there. Try to take a charge. Don't just stand there and look at him drop 26 points. That's all I ask.

He could hurt us. With his mentality that he NEEDS to be a scorer. You saw him. You saw him dribble across the court and shoot an off-balance shot that hit the backboard and rattled out. I don't want low-percentage shots from him. That's reserved for the James and Hughes of the world. Hit your mid-range jumper, or at least have some confidence in it. But don't go thinking you can be Tony Parker out there.

Decent effort tonight. Everyone contributed in some way.

Donyell Marshall just does a solid job every game. You know you'll get a nice performance from him each game.

Nice to see Z not forced to guard Bosh all night. Gooden was the one primarily defending him (sorry IyXo-don't see how Z can get blamed for Bosh's good game).
Cavs rarely are looking for Z offensively. Doesn't make much sense when you have 1 of the top offensive C's in the NBA. Hopefully this will change.

LeBron finally seemed to be looking to create and set up teammates in the 2nd half. He's a great passer with great court vision. He needs to go back to using that and not the more selfish ways he fell into late last season.

Jackson played fairly well up until his last 2 plays which were dumb mistakes.

Wouldn't have minded seeing the Cavs being able to pick up Mike James. He'd be an upgrade over either of our PG's. Can both play D and score.

Cavs won a game they should have but I'm still not sure this effort would have been enough to beat a top team. Cavs still a work in progress at this point.

I just remember watching the game. It was about when Bosh started hitting his 18-footers. Gooden got subbed out and Z was to guard him in Gooden's absence, with Marshall guarding the C. I saw Bosh get the ball, and Z not getting there in time. Swish. Or Z just standing there looking at Bosh take the shot. Swish. Or a break, pass to Bosh, and Z just standing there, looking at Damon Jones, and then noticing Bosh flying a foot in front of him for the slam.

I guess he has a right to be lazy and not challenge.

lyXo you just lost the plot attacking Ilgauskas and Snow in this game. Save the blaming for when they played bad. Actually Snow could be critised for a couple of bad offensive fouls, but other then that he played solid. Mike James only really got into the game when Jones was out there, yet you applaud Jones (scratches head). Jones though at least in general played within the offense this time, 1 or 2 shots excepted.

Still bemused with Z being blamed for Bosh's game!

Lets see who had good games "against" Ilgauskas: Duncan, Gasol and Bosh. I hate to break it to you, but those guys get theirs no matter who is gaurding them. They didn't do anything to stop Z from getting his. Z is not the x factor in these guys having good games. There incredible skill and talent is the x factor. They are good, they do that sort of thing to a lot of people.

Z played good defense on Duncan, but Gasol and Bosh are too quick for him. Thats why you put forward on those guys as they can match that attribute. But Z is forced to match these guys with mixed results.

Anyways we won, yeah!!!

great win, buried them and bron is really hitting his shots, altho id still like him to drive amap and not settle for outside shots...still as lond as he hits the ones he settles for then thats ok....great play by hughes and drew...and marshall is soo critical to this team. Just balances it out so well. Also impressed with luke jackson too, and had a little giggle when pav airballed that shot at the end ;)

2-2 now. we got 7 of the next 10 at teh dreaded GUND AREANA oh i mean the q.
