Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

We'll see if Snow or Wesley can do anything against Parker. My guess is maybe we see Larry Hughes on him as the only guy I can think of that might be able to stay with him. Sure, we could activate Gibson, but I don't think in a rookie's first game its fair to expect him to shut down Parker.

Bowen is one of the guys who can give Lebron some fits, so I'd expect him to try to overpower Bowen in the post instead of trying to deal with his hand-checking, stomach punching, stepping into shots cheap crap on the perimeter. Timmy is going to be trouble, that new ball will bank in if it hits anywhere close to where its supposed to hit on the glass. Z is usually good against him though.

I could see Hughes blowing up again this game, after all, Manu has to guard someone and I don't see him staying with Hughes.

Against the Wiz, the Cavs won with some suprisingly great perimeter shooting, but against the Spurs, they're going to need to take it inside.

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

This game will be less about offense than defense.

Who guards whom. If your the spurs you have to believe they will start with bowen on Lebron, but as someone said earlier, Lebron will completely abuse him in the post. If they leave Manu on Larry Larry will absolutley light it up.

I think the Cavs win this game by taking it right at Duncan. Z can shoot over him, and AV/Gooden can out hustle him. If we get Tim in foul trouble it will be fun to watch.

Another key to this game is to get a handle on the turnovers. You cannot beat a team like the Spurs giving up 21 points on turnovers.

For a few plays, but to ask him to do it for a full game will effectively kill the man.

lebron guarded parker for most of the game last season, did very well to.:jerkoff:

Pip....this girl I know has that same video on her myspace page - she put it up a week ago. What a coincidence!!!

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

Huge Game! Cavs havent won in SA since like 1988. Time to break that trend! SA battled Dallas last night, so maybe that will help.

Z needs to step up, and I hope game 1 wasnt a fluke for Hughes, and he can continue to play great. DJones and Marshall better start hittin their jumpers. We need a great team effort to win this one. Go Cavs!!!

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

Its been like 2 decades since the Cavs have won in san antonio. Goodness. If our beloved Cavs win this game...well its to early in the season. I got freaking bashed last year.

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

It will be really interesting to see who is guarding whom. I don't think we have any point guards that can handle parker, and really Larry is the only guy that could keep up with Manu. Down low it is the other way. Duncan can guard either Z or Gooden, but not both.

If I'm not mistaken, I thought LBJ played very effectively on Parker last season ?

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

Washington's defense sucks and we shot the lights out. Spurs are a real team though, so we must:
1. Hit our freebies
2. Not settle for jumpers
3. Cut the damn turnovers way down
4. Defend like Apache... what?!?

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

lebron locked tony down last year!!!please guard him lebron.

Tony Parker can kill us....sadly enough I might activate Gibby in this game over Ira just in case it gets really bad but too bad that will not happen

Nice call, Mike Brown just said Ira is inactive. I assume either Brown or Gibson is on the bench tonight?
