Re: Cleveland VS. Memphis Game 6

You know how women nag and nit pick...

Thanks for better describing it pip..20 turnovers is bad but this game hasn't been close the entire game, so you can't worry if they lose focus for a period...plus Luke has a few turnovers on broken plays and what not...no biggy boys..

Amazing that every game that Violent Palmer refs I come leaving it thinking that was a badly reffed game for both sides?

Re: Cleveland VS. Memphis Game 6

The team has played awesome. I can't complain about this performance, just don't understand all the fouling and TO's.

Another nice total team effort. So far this team hasn't had any problem when LeBron goes to the bench.
The D is looking better almost every game. Players are finally making the right rotations.

Gooden was huge inside tonight. It seems hard to believe he was only credited with 9 reb's. Z also did a solid job inside. Not sure why the complaints about him. 1st half wasn't great but he was solid in the 2nd. Rotated well defensively, hit the boards and took 2 charges. Also it's nice to see the Cavs finally looking to Z offensively.

Solid all around effort from Hughes. His passing ability is even better than I thought it was.
Luke with a couple of bad TO's but another good all around performance from him. He gives the Cavs another good passer and creator on the perimeter.

Cavs have looked dominant at home so far. Hope it continues and they can take some of this on the road.

I agree Narl, the "D" is getting better and better.. Hopefully that defensive energy they have on the home-court will branch itself out to the road..

The bench is improving, Luke's defense is getting better, and he's always around the ball (too much at times :chuckles: )...

Donyell is so underrated, his rebounding, pick and roll play, and defense is a wonderful addition..

Henderson is solid..

Jones is doing what he was brought here to do..

Z's gonna be the last component to hit on this team offensively because of his reliance on the perimter guys to get used to him and him used to them ...but it'll come. The great part is we have enough weapons offesively that we aren't relying on him to score much. When he gets involved, and the new guys like Hughes and Jones can start to develop a little small ball with him, it'll be just one more plus.

Tonight's game was more than a little encouraging for me in regards to oure defensive effort. It's extremely telling when judging a team's development, especially defensively ..when you are seeing a team for the second time. We got to see their game for a second time, had them game planned, and were able to execute effectively this time around. Proof that the learning curve is moving along at a rapid pace and these guys are getting it. Proves that as we see things, from a defensive standpoint, on a repetitive basis, that game in and game out we will see gradual growth and improvements. It's coming together very nicely, and am expecting a very very bright future for this team, .,.this season. In Mike Brown we've got a head coach that knows what he's doing ....we got a winner in this guy. Just amazing how he is so vastly superior to Paul Silas even at the very beginnings of his head coaching career. Look out ...Cleveland may just get a championship rom one of the sports teams in the not too distant future, folks....

Defensive rotations were so much better this time around. Perimeter pressure was kept up pretty well, and Gasol was challenged properly without fouling him extensively. Offensively, things were a little sloppy, but you were seeing the mistakes you want to see, things like too many passes. Even though there were so many turnovers, the defense held and those TO's didnt turn into points for the other team very often. Also, the team played pretty well with lots of guys in foul trouble early on. But you could see today what Lebron adds offensively to this team. Rebounding was excellent, and you're seeing even the guards grab a couple tough ones inside. Foul shooting is on a tear, Mike Brown must be having these guys shooting lots of free throws. I think its Lebron's new wrinkle too, he's up to 86% this year.

On some individual players...

Hughes was able to step up and create big time in Lebron's absence. And he does it all with a simple bounce pass. He's starting to pick up his shooting percentage too, becoming the scoring threat we all wanted.

Luke is getting some quality minutes too, and he's looked great on the defensive end so far. Offensively, hes not that comfortable with when to shoot vs when to pass and also a bit TO prone, but that D and hustle with the ability to nail the open 3 is enough for me.

Drew Gooden has elevated his game. He's been much more consistent in less minutes this year, and he's been an absolute beast on the boards. Him, Marshall, and Z are ALL hustling out there especially on the boards, and we're getting lots of tips and extra posessions out there. Drew is basically doing what we need him to do, when he's out there with other scoring threats he'll get those random inside looks off doubles. When he has a mismatch, he's good for 2 points inside.

Z wasn't having a great one early, but he picked it up in the 2nd half. I still think he's an underrated shot blocker, and hes having his way on the offensive boards.

What Memphis Fans Are Thinking

"Not only did the Cavs got their revenge on the grizz. They kicked their asses while they were at it. Unfortunately they had help from the grizz themselves. They shot horribly from the strike 9-17 on FTs' and getting outrebounded 49-29. That a big blow to pride." - RealGM Poster

"This one was all about Cleveland," Fratello said. "They played very unselfish. They shared the ball and played defense." - Mike Fratello

"We look like a cooked turd." - Infopop

"The only good thing from tonight is that I have Z and Drew Gooden on my fantasy basketball team." - Infopop

Great defensive effort tonight vs a very talented offensive unit. Despite the turnovers, we managed to concentrate at the other end enough to create enough opportunities for a convincing win. Hughes, Ilgauskas and Gooden were stand outs, with Snow just behind them.

Hughes, with LeBron in foul trouble and not playing particulary well took control of the team, His jumper was falling and he was able to find teammates with amazing passes.

Ilgauskas was a rock in the middle. His shot wasn't dropping tonight, but his presense at both ends is underestimated by the majority.

Gooden's play was all hustle. He finally realises that concentrating leads to positive plays. His focus is his big area of improvement thus far.

Eric Snow once again captained ou defense from the perimeter. His control of the offense, particulary the first half placed us in a solid position.

Damon Jones is finding his feet in our offense. His shot selection is key to his success, as we have seen the past couple of games.

LeBron was forcing things and to me just expecting to dominate. Battier is a good defender and played well. Still though a poor game for james is still a solid game overall.

Marshall again started strongly giving us a good push in his first stint. might to be the victim of relaxing and expecting success in this game rather then work for it.

Jackson played with enthusiasm, but left any fundamentals at the door. Poor control and has gone into a shell in looking for his own shot.

Sasha Pavlovic again just received garbage minutes, but he turned them into quality minutes. An effort like this to be fair should have him back in the running for Jackson's minutes despite Cleveland's love affair with Luke.

Henderson, Wilks and Hamilton were really either not imvolved much (Henderson) or barely played (Wilks and Hamilton).
