Yikes
ill think of some ideas later.
thats wrong. they signed at traded for hedo making them have the MLE.
anyways, on realgm i read suns would take wally 1 year expiring for jason richardson. now i dont want jason richardson at all, but could we work a 3 way getting us a solid shooting PF?
im sure jason richardson is a pretty attractive piece, just not for us.

It doesn't matter if they signed and traded for Turk they do not have a MLE they might still have cap space but they do not the Mid Level. The Mid Level is only for teams that are over the cap

If a team is below the cap, then their Disabled Player, Bi-Annual, Mid-Level and/or Traded Player exceptions are added to their team salary, and the league treats the team as though they are over the cap. This is to prevent a loophole, in a manner similar to free agent amounts (see question numbers 29, 30, 31, 32). A team can't act like they're under the cap and sign free agents using cap room, and then use their Disabled Player, Bi-Annual, Mid-Level and/or Traded Player exceptions. Consequently, the exceptions are added to their team salary (putting the team over the cap) if the team is under the cap and adding the exceptions puts them over the cap. If a team is already over the cap, then the exceptions are not added to their team salary. There would be no point in doing so, since there is no cap room for signing free agents.

Now will Wally want to stay? There's a lot of teams that need shooters more than we do and could give him serious burn. He's gone from starting SG, to first off the bench, to stretch 4, and now he'd be Lebron's backup / locker room guy. I think he's stepped up and done everything he's been asked. Does he like here and want a ring enough to keep swallowing his ego?
As of yesterday, he said he still desperately wants to stay here. Wally is working out hard in New York and waiting for a call. He is playing in the celebrity golf tourney in Tahoe next week....incredible golfer.

What do you think? Perfect fit for depth? I still like what wally brings in a limmited role. He showed he can still play, just not at the same level when made the all star team. He can still be a valuable player on our bench backing up lebron and adding depth at sg and pf, Ofcourse he isnt g-force, but he is a realistic option.
I'm completely in favor of re-signing Wally, if for no other reason, to create another tradable asset. You are on track in your thinking , Lee. If he is re-signed it will be a two year deal with maybe 500K guaranteed in the 2nd year.
The other reason I want Wally back - I am thoroughly entertained listening to him talk about himself. His ego rivals Lebron's. :chuckles:
Max, could you let Wally know that I could listen to him talk about himself all day long?
