WE GOT TELFAIR ! (and Jamison) (page 15)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Jamison is the win the next 2-3 years guy. Lebron knows more about his team than anyone so if he wants Antawn then you have to really consider that. But you wonder if this info was leaked just to make another team lower their demands.

and in 2 to 3 year the hard cap will be here and we wont be able to do anything, so go after iggy for a core player

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

I wish this Lebron wanting AJ thing hadn't come out. It sure wont help Ferry in negotiations.

Grunfeld: "OK, Danny...I'll give you Tawn for Z, JJ, a first rounder, and $3M."
Ferry: "You're crazy...I don't want him that bad."
Grunfeld: "Dont care what you want....Lebron wants him."
Ferry: "He's 33 years old and you overpaid the shit out of him."
Grunfeld: "Dont care....Lebron wants him."
Ferry: "I have the leverage here, no one else wants him."
Grunfeld: "No, you HAD all the leverage...now I know Lebron wants him."
Ferry: "F--- off....I'm finished with you. I'm calling Bird."
Grunfeld: "OK, talk to you tomorrow....Lebron wants him."
Yeah I mentioned that earlier, it could be a problem.

Another possible problem: what if Washington refuses to buy out Z?

What if they wait until the deadline has passed to buy him out and he wont be able to be active for the playoffs?

Are those not legitimate concerns? This is Washington, afterall.

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

I'm in the same boat as Max. It's nice that LBJ wants Jamison, but now that that is out in the open, it can't help the Cavs' leverage; if anything it hurts it. Plus, if I was Danny Ferry, as much as I want to appease LBJ, it would be hard for me to listen to him, not knowing if he is going to be around next year or not. Because if not, then the Cavs are stuck with a very expensive and aging Jamison, on a team that, without LBJ, wouldn't be making much noise. Which would be like being in Washington for Jamison all over again.

Although, if it ends up resulting in a championship, then I guess it will have been worth it...

There is rumors around this, I heard that the Rockets might get involved in a three way trade with Butler going to Huston with Z and Jamison coming to Cleveland, and mcgrady going to the Wizards

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Not that this is a big deal, but if anyone wants to watch ESPN people talk about trade discussions they are now. Before the Miami-Bos game.

J.A. Adande pretty much said everything we already know. Cavs and Wizards are teams most likely to deal. We could get a deal done right now. Z+JJ+pick for Jamison. It's up to us pretty much.

He just said that Cleveland is the most active team pretty much.

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

I'd love to add Jamison, but if we have to give up Hickson, I'd hang the phone up. When you "compare" the two, albeit two different styles of play, one thing sticks out like a soar thumb. Twan may bring great scoring from the PF position, but he needs plays to be called for him. When you look at JJ, his big games come from cutting to the rim. He isn't demanding the ball, he does the dirty work, and he finishes. He doesn't chuck dumb shots from beyond the arc, he cuts and waits for his turn to get the ball. He's YOUNG, and his best years are ahead of him. Once he develops a mid range jumper, he's going to be be great. Give Hickson some plays, and I bet he scored 15 a game.

AI2, Murph, nor Twan are worth JJ IMO. We stop at Z+1st('s).

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

I am starting to second guess not letting go of JJ. Up until this point, I really haven't wanted to trade him for Jamison.

But what would JJ's role really be on the team if we add Jamison? He definitely wouldn't play this season at all assuming Z comes back.

Shaq and Z have both said they want to play after this season, so we would have the same 4 big guys ahead of him next season as well if we bring them back (which I would assume we would), and Powe would also be in the mix.

I would love to keep JJ and I don't really think I want to give him up for Jamison, but if Ferry really wants Jamison bad and thinks it puts us over the top, then throw in JJ if you have to. It's not like he would have a role on the team for the next season and half anyways.

I realize he could be our future PF and that is why I haven't wanted to trade him, but his playing time would go to zero and further stunt his development and I have hard time seeing him getting good if he isn't playing at all for the next year and a half.

I have been thinking about it too much. Now I don't even know what I want.:chuckles:

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Where is Broussard or Stein ? Adande is worse than Bucher...

that deal probably could have gotten deal months ago. the cavs are just going to continue to hold out until the wizards drop their demands or find someone else, or stand pat.

No way the cavs give a pick, JJ, and Z for any of AI, jamison, or murphy straight up. the cavs would have to get a PF of some type back in any of those deals.

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Maybe this year JJ would have less of a role if Jamison is here but in future years, JJ could be a main cog for this team. 1 big thing I think that holds JJ back is his maturity. I think being around Jamison for 2 seasons will make a WORLD of difference in JJ and we could see something pretty special with him. I think that is why Ferry doesn't want to deal JJ, especially in a Jamison deal.

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

JA thought LBJ to the Clippers would happen. He's an idiot.

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Didn't catch the beginning of it because I was at the gym, but JA Adande said that we are the most active in trade discussions and that Jamison could be had for Z, JJ, and picks. Surprise, surprise.

I found it more interesting that both Avery Johnson and Byron Scott think we should NOT make a trade.

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Z/Darnell Jackson or Jawad Williams/1st for Jamison is the max we should go

Re: Jamison Discussion Thread

Im wondering how the Rockets are incorporated into this situation. Somethings aren't adding up. I bet there will be a three way trade between the Rockets-Wizards-Cavs. T Mac goes to Washington while Jamison comes to Cleveland, and we send J.J or somebody (maybe Z) down to Houston while the Wiz send a nice piece (Butler or Miler or even Haywood) down to Houston. That is a trade that can make sense since we won't be able to trade with Washington straight up very easily.

If we wanted to deal Z/JJ for Jamison, we could probably deal with Washington straight up, even with all the bad blood coming from Washington. The whole point of a 3-team trade to acquire Jamison would be to NOT have to give up JJ. Or if we gave up JJ, getting a nice young piece in return.
