We need to make a serious run at acquiring Devin Harris.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not really. He was pretty damned average during his entire tenure in Dallas. He only got hype as being a "top tier PG" after he blew up in New Jersey the first full year there. But he, like I predicted regressed the next year. He's not that great. Solid, but not great.

Opinion- upgrade or downgrade from Mo?

I just don't think Mo has proven himself not to be the answer to years in a row in the playoffs and we need to replace him. With who I don't know though....

We have essentially the right pieces to obtain Chris Paul from NO, its just a matter of how healthy he will be.

This team will never get out and run no matter who they get.

edit: Well, assuming Mike Brown is gone, that could be false.

Harris is good, but overrated. Is he even better than Mo? We'd have to give up too much. We should definitely be open to trades, but Devin Harris is not the answer IMO.

Defensive up-grade, Offensive/Fit down-grade....overall a side-grade that would waste assets...IMO.

No. He was good in Dallas. The year in NJ just reinforced what many people were seeing and saying. His stats and productivity increased as his minutes went up. Last year was the odd year out in that trend. He lost Vince Carter which was a huge blow. He was the only viable perimeter scoring threat on the team. He's not a #1 option. However, this past year the Nets made him be one. On a team like ours he'd be a perennial all star reserve.

Well, if we got a new coach that liked to get out and run a lot and make use of our athleticism, I think in that situation Devin Harris would fit. At this point in the league it looks like we're heading into an era that's going to dominated by speedy point guards, and the rules against handchecking are more conducive to that. I'd rather get someone that's better on defense and still has room to improve his shot.

But this should be an absolute last option. Like you said, we have assets and we need to make use of them. We should explore all of our other options regarding other Centers, Shooting Guards, and Point Guards before we push for Devin Harris.

As far as this page is concerned what are the thoughts and opinions as to the assets needed to be given up to get either Devin Harris OR Chris Paul?

I honestly have no idea. I'm not advocating we go out break the bank for Harris. If we can get him for a reasonable deal (which Ferry usually does) then we should get him.

As for CP3, is he even a realistic possibility? I don't think so. Just another pipe dream IMO.

Harris - Hickson + expirings (at min). Depends on the competition for him though.

CP3 - LeBron. Nothing else would be accepted by them.

edit: wouldn't do the Harris deal fwiw, but that's what it would take IF the Nets even get Wall.

Even I have to thank that. I can't not laugh at that scene.

I am promoter of acquiring Devin Harris. CP3 is unrealistic. Darren Collison could possibly be had, though. Now that should throw a wrench into the equation.

Yes! Lets trade LeBron for Devin Harris, because that is the only way that Devin Harris will be on this team. I would rather trading LeBron for Deng.
