Week #14 - Ravens @ Browns - 1 pm on CBS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mayfield sucks. Everything he accomplished was when his first read was open. But that's nothing new. The defense fell apart in the second half. They couldn't run the ball. There's no way they win 10 games. But at least they won this one.
You must not know what you're watching, he was going to second and third reads a good part of the attempts.

Did they explain what happened on the onside kick? The guy acted like he didn't expect it.

Basic incompetence and being unprepared and improperly coached?

I don't know. I've never seen a guy on the up line for an obvious onside kick not even look to see if the ball was kicked at him. Everyone on that ine has to know the ball could be kicked at them. I'm completely baffled as to what happened there.

I'd like one of Stefanski's defenders to explain to me why our receivers are NEVER running open on routes the way every other team in the league's receivers do. FFS the Ravens receivers had separation on at least 3/4 of the route trees. You watch the Browns route trees and they just constantly run the exact same ultra-predictable shit. There are plays where the entire middle of the field is wide open and we never run a late crosser into space. It's always Mayfield trying to force the ball into blanketed receivers.

Stefanski curls up into a shell and goes ultra conservative every chance he gets. He never tries to put a team away, never goes for the throat. He always takes the foot off the pedal. It's just who he is as a coach and as a person. And he has no idea how to make in game adjustments, same problem he had in Minnesota.
I don't have the knowledge as to why that would happen, but the play calling overall bugs me. It was 3rd and 4 late in the game and we try to pass it.

I do think our WRs lack the ability to find a hole, make people miss and get open. Ravens always have slithery guys who just find a way to get open after a catch.

Not even a single field goal in the second half. Even with Keenum going in.

Something is wrong. Thank goodness the Browns had a W, because the Ravens suck (as I've been saying).

Both teams suck. Even as good as our defense looks at times, they're inconsistent. The offense is mostly just bad.

I'm crushing hard on JOK.

Dude was brought here to stop Lamar and he hasn't disappointed.

Mothafucka is ALL OVER THE FIELD just making plays.

Knocking Lamar out of the game...

*chef's kiss
The Browns defense is starting to remind me of the Eagles defense: a lot of great individual players but as a unit, underwhelming. Ward, Garrett, Clowney, JOK... great players.

JOK hitting like he does is a great thing to see. In general, the Browns defense plays best against the Ravens. (last year I'm convinced was mostly COVID and injuries)

I agree with what you say here. But I would add Stefanski never throws the ball deep like other teams do. That to me is absolutely inexcusable given Matfield's deep ball accuracy.

Another devastating victory. If a hard-fought game that you lose is a moral victory then does that make this game a moral defeat? "Yeah, we won, but it's a moral defeat."

7-6. 11 of 16 AFC teams are within a game of 7-6. We just need to keep grinding and hope for health in January.
